they can choose whichever shop they want to take their car to, whether it is more or least expensive. i wouldnt want to be in your shoes though because you may feel that you are being taken advantage of and that they could go somewhere cheaper and i would want them to go somewhere cheaper to but you did hit their car so they do have an upper hand in this matter. i rear ended someone, thankfully no one got hurt and her car wasnt damage, on the other hand i had to repair my front bumper and headlights. it cost me almost 300 bucks. watch those judge shows, i heard a few times that they can take the quote they want but the judge usually is fair in regards to giving you a break too.

all body shop quotes are different because they use different kind of parts. it either original manufacture of aftermarket parts. certain insurance policy require vehicle to have original manufacture replacement parts. when they give you an estimate, compares the parts and warranty. since you are paying the repair, you have the right to choose wherever you want. to protect yourself , inspect the vehicle after the repair is done.bring a mechanic if you can. KEEP the repair receipt for proof in the future. if you find out that the repairs was done incorrectly, you have proof to show to the judge in case of lawsuit.
