1 Check with your manual or local dealer as to how much an empty enginee will require to re-fill, then buy the oil. 2 Buy a suitable engin flush, this you add to the engine and let it run for about 15 Min's with the old oil still in, this will help remove any debris and clogging, solids and metallic particles. 3 Buy a replacement oil filter too. When the vehicle has been run for the 15 minuets with the oil flush in, let it stand for an hour, with the oil cap removed, so all the crap oil has time to run down into the sump, hopefully with all the crap too. Unscrew the little plug under the sump and have two bowels ready, the oil may be hot so be careful. Don't jack the damn thing up more that is necessary to access this plug. Drain the oil. Then unscrew the oil filter on the side of the engine, this will be easy to spot given you have the new one in your hands! If you cant unscrew it, drive a screwdriver through the old one and use this as a lever to turn the old one off. Clean around the oil filter seal and apply a little oil to the new filter seal and screw into place. When you have done all that, replace the plug under the sump and refill with oil using only the amount recommended.

Everyone is a beginner at some age and the only way to learn how is to just do it. First, check your owner's manual for the amount of oil you'll need for a change (with filter). If you don't have the manual call any dealer of your brand car. Then go to a good auto supply store or even Wal-Mart for these supplies: correct weight weight oil (ask the parts guy), proper filter (don't buy the cheapo), a filter wrench, a drain pan, and a funnel if necessary to reach your oil fill tube. Raise the car a bit if necessary to get under it (be sure to support it well, not just with the jack), put the drain pan under the oil pan and remove the drain plug. If the oil is hot be careful. Remove the filter and let it drain into the pan also. Replace filter and the drain plug (don't over tighten either one), refill engine with oil, start the car and CHECK for LEAKS immediately. With all this trouble (it's a dirty job too), it's much easier to take it to a shop, unless you just want to learn how to do it yourself. Have fun!

1-raise the front of your car,on a level surface
2-get a deep pan that you can get under your car and some rags
3-take a ratchet and socket and take out the drain plug and let the oil drain
4-after it all drains, put the plug back in and tighten the plug(but dont over tighten it,because you could strip the threads on the plug
5-take off the filter, and discard it,then take some oil and put on the gasket of the new filter and screw the new filter on where the old 1 came off of(just hand tighten only)
6-let the car back down andfill the crankcase with new oil(about 4 quarts)and start the engine(but let it idle on its own)
7-let the oil drain back down and check it,then fill it to the full mark, and then start the car and check for leaks.its not hard, just time consuming.

first of all, unscrew the nut at the bottom of the sump. have a basin underneath. second unscrew the oil filter and fit a new one. then when oil is drained put the screw back into the sump and have the new oil filter thightened. finally pour your new oil in. checking your dip stick for occasionally. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON LEVEL GROUND WHEN CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL. RUN THE CAR FOR A MOMENT BEFORE DRAINING AS THE OIL WILL RUN OUT BETTER. AVOID GETTING THE OIL ON YOUR SKIN AND WHEN FINISHED PUT THE OIL IN A CONTAINER AND FIND A PLACE TO DISPOSE OF IT RESPONSIBILY.

First your oil has to want to change. If it doesn't, all the talking in the world won't convince it. *grin*
