No they are different. Delco is different than ford. Take your starter off and look at it. You can take the solenoid apart and make it work by rotating the 12 volt stud and clean on round copper piece the other mating surface.

1. mount solenoid in engine compartment...i.e. inner fender
well for fire wall.
2. #10 gauge wiring from + bat terminal to one side of Solenoid.
3. Remove the wire from your starters solenoid that becomes
hot when you turn the ignition to start/crank
4. This wire will now be used to energize the Ford Solenoid
so you will probably have to add to it and a new connector
5. The other side of the Ford Solenoid will now be wired to
your cars starter terminal that you removed the start/crank
wire from.
6. Now when you turn the key the Ford solenoid will energize
your starter with direct battery current.. this will eliminate
the jumping of your starters terminal... it will act the same as if
you are jumping your starters terminal because thats what your doing when jumping is providing straight batt Voltage to
the starter... This cure is used on Drag Cars, Late Models
Street Stocks and many other race cars...

I think you mean a remote solenoid - There is a kit - check Summit. The name of the company is MAD Enterprises. They have a website - give them a Google.

Link to the part you want + a pic of the schematic:

I wired one myself in a Pontiac using a ford starter relay from an Auto parts store - search online and you can find a schematic. It helped with hot starts (A problem on Pontiacs with headers). I Since changed to a lightweight starter and no more problems and don't need the relay anymore.

You sure can and it's not difficult at all. You just bypass the GM solenoid. GM's solenoid on the starter design is one of the dumbest things they ever did. Check out the link below for instructions and a wiring diagram.
