I was wondering if it is worth the money. There are a few things I've noticed about it that the security light stays on and it runs good except it has a little hesitation when its stopped. I was wondering what could be causing this and how much it would cost to fix. I don't want to invest a lot of money in it. Thanks for the help.

The thing's not going to run like a top. It probably just needs some regular maintenance, like cleaned fuel injectors and new plugs. The best thing you could do is get a good compression check before you buy it. That will tell you a lot about how worn the engine is.
It's a good car, but you're taking some risk in any car that old.

Camaros are excellent cars. I have had a 96, 95, 89, and 84. The Security light is nothing to worry about, it is related to the VATS system (the resistor built into the key) and is minor. The hesitation on a fuel injected car could simply be due to the car being in need of regular maintenance. One hundred dollars worth of easy do-it-yourself (or ask a friend) things would be advisable for any used car. Oil and filter change, air filter replacement, STP fuel treatment, transmission fluid change, inspect drive belt, new spark plugs, radiator flush and fill, check tire pressure and top off minor fluids such as power steering and brake fluid. Make sure that the exhaust sounds okay and there is no blockage (such as from an old catalytic converter in need of replacement). The least likely possibility is a looming torque converter problem. If the Check Engine light comes on during these hesitation spells, find someone you can borrow an OBD II scanner from, plug it into the diagnostic port under the driver's side and scan for trouble codes. Good luck and enjoy your Camaro!

i'm a motor vehicle salesman at a Ford Lincoln-Mercury dealership and that i'm the son-in-regulation of a Chevrolet mechanic. I actual have bought quite a few pre-owned Cobalts. basically one had minor matters (and that i do mean minor, and all have been lined under guarantee). I had a customer who totalled out his Cobalt after basically 9 days and walked away with basically minor injuries. I actual have bought Cobalts to families paying for the motor vehicle for youths and that i've got bought them to people whose babies have been grown already. they have a surprising volume of room for one among these small motor vehicle, get large gas mileage, and are very risk-free and sturdy. My advice is to maintain the Pontiac until you're complete with severe college. Then purchase the Cobalt when you get an entire tim interest and could make (or a minimum of help dad make) the money.
