if they're new, take the car back to the shop that did your brakes and tell them you're not satisfied with their service or parts. Either they did a bad job or the brakes are not good. They should look them over. If you or a friend did the brakes yourself, then take out the pads and lubricate what needs to be lubricated (shims, etc.) with brake lubricant. Also use brake cleaner. Check the condition of the pads, rotors, calipers, etc.

There is more than one type of brake pads. The cheaper HARD pads last longer but they are prone to squealing. The other cause is when they are riveted to the carriers there is microscopic movement which translates to squealing when the brakes are applied.

SOFT pads are more expensive and they are usually glued to the carriers. They need to be replaced more frequently but they vary rarely squeal. Check which type your mechanic installed.

Take it back where you had the brakes done. If they don't lubricate all the sliders, and clips and contact points then they did it wrong. If they resurfaced the rotors and didn't wash them with soap and water before mounting them, them they have contaminated the pads with machining dust. If they use the cheap 12/set junk pads you will have all kinds of problems. Either way you paid to have it done right and they didn't.

Most likely the bozos did not reinstall your anti-squeal plates. This is extra work for them, and people that don't do their own brakes don't even know they exist. Hence, brake shops typically discard them knowing that you won't know that they were too lazy to reinstall them.
