Every time I turn my heater on with the rear defroster at the same time, my temperature guage goes all the way down pass the cold position (It also has happened when I only use the ac or heater) and then my heater will start blowing out cooler air... and if I switch it to the ac, It stays at the same temperature.. Then once I turn the car off, the fans keep running for about 5-10 minutes and if I drive it like that for a long period of time, the check engine light comes on and the codes says that the engine is running hot... if i disconnect the positive battery for a few, everything goes back to normal including the fans and the guage until I mess with the heater and defroster. I have drove the car for over three weeks without messing with the heater or anything and nothing went wrong but yesterday I turned it on and about 10 minutes later the guage slowly went down.. I also replaced the cooling sensor a few weeks ago

supposedly there are electrical connections or switches under the truck that become corroded and cause the failure. Can anyone tell me where these connections or switches are located and the correct part name??? Is it an easy or difficult fix and whether it will be expensive for parts????? thank you.

Before we went on a ride yesterday I checked the atv's oil, and it appeared to be low, so I added. But then I checked it and it seemed to have to much. I thought that too much oil would just cause some smoking, but a friend said it could, in fact blow the engine up, I don't see why it would, just need some reassurance.

I am not sure what to look for, any suggestions would really help, I cant afford to take it to a mechanic. It only makes noise when its idling, but not when I give it gas. This is my only transportation so I need to take care of it before it becomes something major if its not already.

I have a 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ with 2.5 L engine. I have had the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) replaced twice. i now have a check engine light on again with the same signs of a bad TPS stuttering going up hills etc... The last time it was replaced it had water in it. I was wondering what might let water in there? Vacuum Leak? I'm not sure.
Any help would be great

A few days after taking my car to Jiffy Lube, white smoke started coming out of the tailpipe upon startup.

A few days after that, the engine started making a grinding like sound when I pushed the gas, getting louder as I accelerated.

I took the car to the dealership and they called to tell me there was no oil in the car and they couldn't find a leak or anything. They assumed Jiffy Lube didn't put the oil back in it after draining.

I went to the Jiffy Lube and they pulled the video tape of them working on the car. The manager himself is seen in the video adding oil and then checking it to make sure it was full of oil.

The car is a 2002 Ford Explorer, 6 cyl. Any insight into this issue would be MORE than helpful.

THANKS!

I have replaced the alternator, alternator belt, and battery. I also have had the alternator checked by a mechanic, and it is charging just fine. Where do I go from here to diagnose my problem? What do I check now?

I just had a remote entry system installed in my 2001 Caravan and it won't work unless I'm about four feet from the driver's door. When I try to unlock the rear hatch, I have to go up near the front of the car before the doors unlock. If I have to get that close, I might as well go another few feet and put the key in the lock. I called the installer and they told me that remote entry systems aren't supposed to work at a distance, that's for alarm systems or remote start systems. This sounds like bull to me. Is it?

I have a Ford engine in this bronco in my shop and cant figure out what it is. I have done some research it has 7 valve cover bolts. the 351 cleveland has 8 and the windsor has 6. It cant be a big block the overall length of the block is only 22 inches give or take an inch. I dont want to pull this thing to find numbers on it. The fuel pump bolts are side by side like a windsor , not up and down like a cleveland. this is an 82 bronco and this is not the stock engine, so it could be anything. If it helps the guy that put it in isnt around anymore and I pretty much got it for free, but he had to cut the frame out on the passengers side to get the exhaust manifolds to fit, these arent headers, just plain old stock looking manifolds. I am at a loss, this is a very strong motor, much stronger than my 94 with a 351. I dont know much else about it...please help

My engine light came on a few months ago and I took it in right away. At the time my car was running fine and thought is was just an electrical malfunction. I was told that I need a whole new engine that would cost me close to $6,000. My car is only 4 years old and I have always taken good care of it. I took it to two different places to make sure I wasn't being ripped off and was told the same by both. Now my car shakes when I start it and struggles to stay on sometimes. If there is anything I can do to fix this without having to replace the entire engine I would love to know. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
