I have a 2002 Saturn manual transmission car with about 55, 000 miles that has never once given me a problem. It had gotten plowed in after the snowstorm this weekend, but this morning it looked like enough snow had melted to move it. However, now it won't start! (yesterday it started but wouldn't move.) The battery powered stuff seems to be working and the engine is trying to turn over. Could something underneath the hood have gotten wet or damaged from the snow? If that's the case, could it rectify itself? What could the problem be and what do I do?

I recently was driving in the snow and my car slid and I hit some curbing. Since then my front left tire (the one that struck the curb) appears to have been pushed back and when I turn it in certain ways it rubs against the back of the wheelhouse. What could the problem be?

I just got a new battery at Sears (prorated replacement). The car was not holding enough of a charge. Now the starter barely spins when you turn the key. All of the warning lights dim and then the starter does spin and the car starts. When you first turn the key, it really sounds like you are not going to start. I have cleaned the battery terminals by removing them from the battery and cleaning them with a wire brush tool. Do I need a new starter or soleniod or should I just check the connections down there for dirt or corrosion? The vehicle is a 1996 Volvo 850 non-turbo.

First the car is overheating. The fan is working, I just think it is antifreeze leaking out of a hoze and onto the engine.

My heater quit working approx. the same time it started overheating. What do you think could be the reason for the heater to quit working? It's still cold where I'm at and I need to get this fixed pronto!

I recently purchased a 1999 transit 2.5 di with a genuine 80k on the clock. All seemed fine, oil level was on the max mark on the dip stick, no serious smoke or rattles. A couple of days ago the oil pressure light came on when I started it then went out again, half a mile down the road it came back on and the van slowed down to a stop as if the ignition had been turned off. The engine has seized but not suddenly i.e. wheels locking up at speed but at less than 30 mph and not even a mile from home. I'm hoping this means any damage will be minimal.
I removed the plug from the sump (bucket ready) but nothing came out eventually I got some wire in the hole and managed to coax a bit of oil out or maybe bovril ? im not sure which but its reluctant to come out, its that thick! Last night I put the plug back in and poured 2 litres of white spirit in the oil filler to thin the stuff for removal & sprayed penetrating oil down each cylinder. My question is should I continue or is it knackered

I have a Mitsubishi Shogun (automatic gearbox). Whatever speed Im doing it jolts up and down the gears - like it cant find the biting point, or its losing pressure or something. Even if Im doing steady motorway driving at 70mph, it still keeps changing gear. Also there is an red A/T light that keeps flashing occasionally, maybe just for a couple of seconds, but not every day. Help!!

I own a 1997 Buick Riviera and the stock alternator just went out ( thats over 10 years!) Everything else is in working order and there are no current problems. It takes a 140 amp alternator stock but Napa's replacment premeium alternator was 150 amps. After a long hassle to install at night in the sears parking lot!, I started the car and all was fine. When I came home, I just revved it a bit before i shut it off and I noticed that the interior lights flickered a bit. (I said " Oh Great!, I can ever just solve a problem , a new one has to come up!.lol) This has never happened beforre...Ever. I noticed the next night that the headlights "pulsed" as well. I figured out that at 2500rpm's and above, it does this. below that everything is fine. Keep in mind everything was connected exactly how the original one was. I'm pretty decent with car and even had a buddy there for assistance. The ground is tight and so is the connecter. Battery terminals are back on tight as well. Battery tested.

I've been working on a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 pickup. It has a 4.3 V6 and was factory equipped with air conditioning that no longer works. Since it doesn't function anyway, and since I'm about to replace the alternator and serpentine belt, should I ditch the AC compressor while I'm at it? I know that on some vehicle applications, if the compressor locks up, the car will throw the belt and wont run. Is this one of those applications?

Dorman makes a bypass bracket and pulley that installs in place of the compressor. Should I put one in or leave it alone? Cheap insurance or a waste of time?
