If there are no lights and no "turn-over" noise when you try to start it, it's most likely a battery problem. Try jumping it off with another car.

The battery is either really dead flat or disconnected. Check the connections to the battery are all tight, then enlist some help (another car) to jump start your car from theirs. Once started get it somewhere to be checked out.

Do not try 'bump-starting' it, if you have no battery lights, no ignition lights then it will not have enough power to fire ignition on a 'bump' and you'll just end up with the same problem, only further away from your home!

Also DO NOT try disconnecting the battery whilst the engine is running, you could damage (not test) the alternator if you do this, Instead take it to someone who understands cars and have them test the battery and the alternator output.

Most likely just a drained battery (which may need to be replaced), but make sure if it is a drained battery, that you find out WHAT drained the battery; or you will have the same problem again.

Hope this helps......Good luck.

do u know anyone with some jump leads, so u can try to get your car started ? sounds like it's a battery or alternator problem. if it were a starter motor problem, it would make a clicking noise as u turned the key in the ignition. it doesn't matter that u are low on petrol - that shouldn't make any difference to your battery light, etc.

it's probably a dead battery, but if so, you need to find out why. Get someone to jump-start your car, and while it's running disconnect the positive battery terminal. If the car dies you have a bad alternator and it isn't charging the battery, which is killing the battery because the engine is running off of battery power instead of the alternator. If it continues running, then you have a power leak that is draining you battery when the car is off, and it wilneed to be found and fixed or you will continue to have this problem. I hope this has been of some help to you.

have u tried looking under your car's bonnet, u sure the battery is still there and intact with its leads? or even if ur engine is there :) no only joking, sounds like a dead battery, best thing is to do is get a heavy duty battery cos tht can run the whole electronics of the car and also will start anytime, cos it doesnt weaken , hope this is helpful :)

the starter and or solenoid needs a minimum of voltage to engage. If it doesn't get it from the battery you will hear nothing or a clicking noise. Take the battery cables off and clean them up by scraping for fresh metal to metal contact and tighten up very snuggly. This will allow your weak battery to give enough voltage to the starter to start your car. it worked yesterday so it can't be really really low(unless you drained it by leaving something on last night)

could be the battery or the alternater. or it could be having just one of those days.

but also try rocking the car to try and move what little petrol/diesel is left in there.

or you could have flooded the engine which will drain the battery quicker than it takes to empty a sink of water!!!

The problem might be the battery you can try to jump start it. Make sure the battery terminal are clean and they are not loosely connected.

Try jump starting as it sounds like your battery is dead. No point doing this without fuel in the tank though.

if your not getting lights or any noise when you try and turn the key your battery is probably dead try a jump or bump start to get you going and have your alternator output checked
