It's not the fan belt..maybe the timing belt? What else could it be and what do I need to do to stop the damn noise! It stops a while after the car's warmed up...

Any help greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

Could be a bad bearing in the idler pulley that automatically tensions the serpentine or timing belts. You can use an old spray bottle filled with water to spritz water at various points onto the rotating belts, pulleys and bearings when you first start the engine. If the squeal immediately quiets, you'll have some idea what rotating components are making the noise. Sometimes technicians temporarily disconnect a belt to see if the squeal stops. A safety warning: Keep your distance from rotating engine parts. The coolant fan can come on at any time.
PS, If the squeal could be coming from under your dash, then it might be a bad fan motor bearing that blows air through your dash vents.
