The car is 98 Kia Sephia. Any estimate on repair costs? I'm financially strapped. Would smoke stop so I can drive without any repairs but add oil every week?

Usually when a car puffs white smoke it means that ntifreeze is getting in the cylinders..Have you checked your coolant level...if low, then probably blown head gasket...If the smoke is black then I would say that you either need to replace the valve stem seals or you might have bottom end damage..like broke rings on the pistons, causing blow by.. Have you check for oil leaks under you car? That might be where the oil is going...And check the pcv system...

White smoke is only condensation which is normal. You only need to worry about Blue Smoke (oil burning) and or Black Smoke ( Fuel mixture too rich) Be sure to check oil by dipstick as a gauge may be wrong. Also check for oil leaks. The only time to worry about white smoke is if it smells like anti freeze as this is a sign of a blown head gasket.

White smoke usually means a cracked block or a blown head gasket.
Sorry to say both are very expensive. You have coolant getting into your cylinders.
If you keep on driving it you will quickly ruin the engine.

You're looking at at least $2,500.00 to repair.

You could try an oil change and have them use synthetic oil. It costs a little more but it does not burn like regular motor oil. But you will need to get it checked out eventually for seal leaks.
