I think it is ridiculous also.
You can do a preventative maintenance on them by doing this.
1 run the tank to 1/4 put in a bottle of injector cleaner. then go to the station and fill up after driving about 20 miles. this will concentrate the injector cleaner and boost the cleaning.
Then do this every 6 months this will keep the fuel system clean and free of water.
The shop has items that are easy and cost you a lot. I would highly suggest you go to a neighborhood reputable auto repair shop and get into a relationship with them. Make sure they are ASE certified and a AAA rating is good also.
Sounds like your Hyundai dealer isn't making money
This has nothing to do with warranty, the scheduled maintenance items are only suggestions.

It is called preventative maintenance. The idea is that by cleaning those injectors on a regular basis you never get the kind of build up that leads to REPLACING the injectors. It is not necessary to do it but it will help your vehicle to retain its resale value if you have service records showing that you did all of the service when it was appropriate. Think of it like taking vitamins. You dont only take your vitamins when your sick. You take them on a regular basis to help prevent sickness from occuring.

I agree. Unless you are having fuel related problems that require injector cleaning, check your owners manual or go on line to Hyundai and find there service schedule.

Probably not. Dump some SeaFoam in the tank. About $6.
If you're fuel mileage is where you think it should be, why mess with it? The SeaFoam can be your "preventive maintenance". Of course, if the warranty REQUIRES this service be done, then by all means, do it.

You have to to keep your warranty valid I suppose. My car has over 250,000 miles and it wouldn't have had the injectors cleaned for 15 years and it goes fine.

Check your owner's manual and the warranty manual. You probably want to do what it takes to maintain the warranty.
