I am not sure what to look for, any suggestions would really help, I cant afford to take it to a mechanic. It only makes noise when its idling, but not when I give it gas. This is my only transportation so I need to take care of it before it becomes something major if its not already.

maybe your tensioner pulley is worn out, if not it could be your water pump or alternator, have someone check all of your pulleys. hope this helps.

i own a repair shop,and i have owned two of these cars before,if i knew which engine you had i probably could have helped you with this one,it helps to tell all you can about the vehicle when asking a question,good luck with it.

maybe the cover to your catilic converter is loose
