supposedly there are electrical connections or switches under the truck that become corroded and cause the failure. Can anyone tell me where these connections or switches are located and the correct part name??? Is it an easy or difficult fix and whether it will be expensive for parts????? thank you.

There's a switch module that's mounted on the side of the transfer case. It tells your shift computer what position the transfer case gears are in, and disables everything when the switches go bad. You can take it off pretty easily and check the switches out. They might be bent out of shape, the solder joints could be broken, or they could be corroded.

You probably need a four wheel drive actuator switch. Where it is located I don't know.
