We have checked all the vacuum lines etc... but can't find a leak anywhere. Just a very loud noise when accelerating and it steals some of the power. Have been told its NOTHING before... but it didn't do this until recently and it does it off and on. Its not supposed to sound like its Turbo'd. Its a KIA for heavens sake!

Oh yah, and it didn't start making this noise until I recently had ALL of my belts replaced just as a maint. procedure. Checked all the Vacumm lines, nothing. Belts are all tight... ?????

Your alternator or power steering pump or something the belt drives has a bad bearing. The monkeys who replaced the belt probably got it too tight.

Could be a hole in your muffler somewhere. Holes make the exhaust make loud noises because the muffler isn't muting the noise as well with the holes in it. I had a truck once where holes made me sound like I had dual exhaust--but I kind of liked it. ;)

If you have a loss of power and exhaust gas hissing out, It could be a restriction in the exhaust system.

spray the serpentine belt with silicone and see if the noise goes away and if it does you need a new serpentine belt.
