Ford explorer trying to replace rack and pinion? how do you get it out??

have rack and pinion dismounted, cannot remove it from frame?? any ideas? Does the A frame have to be removed in order to get old rack and pinion out??

I'm an avid DIYer and former auto mechanic but messing with the steering system in your car is very risky. Unless you know what you're doing, don't even consider it. In any case, it's not easy and requires specialized tools.

If you don't know...you probably shouldn't attempt it. call around and get estimates for replacement

i really must recommend you get a Haynes manual for your car
