I will probably need a new transmission since it currently has 408k miles, but I am just curious what is causing my transmission to not engage into any of the gears. The engine just revs in ANY gear like it is in neutral.....what has gone wrong? Is this even the actual transmission's fault, or something else?

Hello,
I have a 2003 Toyota 4Runner V6 Sport. Recently my check engine light came on. I used a friend's hand scanner and it read code P0136. O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2. I went and replaced the sensor. I changed the driver side sensor AFTER the CAT. I reset the code and I am still getting the check engine light with the same problem. NO other error's. I have noticed that my miles per gallon's has dropped. What should I do ?

Started hearing a rubbing/grinding noise from the front end, especially when turning wheels. Now my anti-lock brake lights and my AWD disabled light has come on. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas as to what it might be?? I would appreciate any help that you can give me.

I have a '92 Honda Civic VX with a hydraulic clutch system. During cold weather (40 F or lower), my clutch pedal goes to the floor and I can't put the car into gear. Pumping the clutch or warming it up doesn't help; it just grinds. I can turn it off, put it into gear, then "lurch" forward. Driving it for extended periods of time doesn't seem to help too much, although going up hills sometimes does. During warmer weather, it works fine, although sometimes the clutch pedal will get stuck halfway out then pop back into place. I had a clutch job, master and slave cylinder replaced, clutch system drained/fluid replaced (2x), all to no effect. The mechanic was stumped, as he couldn't replicate the problem (warmer weather, no problem). What could be affected by the cold?

ive opened it with the key fob. then when i,ve got in there,s no ignition lights and no power at all then i,ve left it for a while then when i,ve gon back to it it,s fine. there,s no problem when i,m driving it

I have an 1992 Oldsmobile Achieva and my alternator is bad. My car drives for about 45 minutes and then dies. It takes about 2 minutes for it to start back up. A friend said I need a new alternator but what can I do now to keep it from cutting off until I get a new alternator? Thanks in advance

I have a 1996 Nissan Sentra, and have a problem with it quitting alot. It acts like water in the gas, but i just got it out of the garage and they changed the thermostat to get good heat in the car, and reset the computer. The computer hookup showed water in the system so i have been putting cans of (SEA FOAM)--Motor cleaner and fuel injector cleaner in this tank of gas and about the next 3 tanks. The car is also bucking when you are driving at 60-65 mph. Could it be the EGR system or fouled plugs or etc? Would u stick with the water or acts like something else? 1996 Nissan Sentra 4-cylinder.

This is a common truck and a easily enhanced engine but its hard to find bolt on stuff like K&N cold air and throttle body spacers. When i do find them...WOW the price is crazy compared to chevy and ford trucks. Any suggestions to a good bolt on?

I believe it is coming from the front end and it sounds like a ratcheting noise. I was thinking the CV joints on the axles but the boots seem to be in good shape with no leakage and it doesn't have to be turning to make the noise, just going down the road.

my 1997 chevy lumina will not start. i turn the key and nothing happens the terminal (that i think is from the ignition)on the starter is not getting any power. i have a feeling this is the problem....i have a feeling it is either a bad fuse or bad relay....let me know if you have any ideas

I just bought a power inverter so I can plug electronic devices like my laptop and ipod and I'm wondering how long can I use these devices without the engine being started, until the battery is completely drain. I don't want to be stranded in a parking lot. I have a 2007 Sentra so the battery capacity isn't that big. The power inverter says it will shut itself off when the battery is close to empty but I would like to know an exact number. Thanks

1998 Chevy truck can't get it started now. Was able to get it started after using fuel injector cleaner in the past. Then it runs really bad.
Now it won't start at all. Had spark plugs changed. Still won't start. Trying to start it has ran my battery down.
Could it be the fuel pump, starter or timing change?

I have a 99 Ford Contour V-6> Although it is fun to drive but it always giving trouble. The car come up with 4 code:System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank1, Bank 2) and system too lean(Bank1 and 2). After i saw this appear, i change both upstream O2 sensors, but it doesn't seem to help. My question is " are there one component failure can cause those 4 code to come up at same time??" Because i was thinking about the MAF sensor....Help

i have a 93' stick shift jeep cherokee. 3-4 months whenever i drive and the jeeps in 5th gear it felt like the car is not getting enough gas. it would pull back/slow down like the gas didn't go through or no power is getting in even even though my foot is in the gas then it would move forward again after many attempts of pumping the gas. i then followed the advice of the people here in "yahoo answers" by cleaning out the fuel injector. it worked and the problem went away. i then went in a vacation for about a month and half and that meant not using the jeep the whole time i was out. the thing is that the problem came back two days ago and has been acting up again everytime i drive in the freeway. do i have to clean the fuel injector again? if its not the fuel injector, what do you think is wrong with my jeep? btw, the problem only comes up when im in 5th gear driving in the freeway. it also cant be my clutch because it works out just fine. thank you

I acidently scratched my friends car joking around and i agreed to pay for the paint job and we got a good deal from a family friend. Another friend pointed out to that his GM warranty might be voided. i dont believe this for a second. and i really want to bring the car to the dealership because i dont have the extra money.

I just bought a 79 k5 blazer with a 5.7 350 and 6" lift and some 32's, I wanna take it out and play in the mud, get it dirty and have fun, and tips or suggestions? I am new to this whole thing.

ALSO to put it in 4WD, do I lock the wheels, when put it in L2 or L1 while having the 4wd in nuetural then I can switch it or do I put the regular in N then move the 4wd or what?

I leased a 2007 Lincoln MKZ two days ago. I parked the car in my driveway which had a SMALL THIN amount of ice on ONE side of it only... The other side of the driveway was dry as a bone. When I woke up the car had rolled on its own to the bottom of the driveway into my van. If my van wasn't there it would have ended up in the street! There is a small dent but my main concern is the dealership cannot find anything wrong with it. I'm so afraid that it will happen again and someone will get hurt. Does anyone have any idea why this would happen? It is a 43,000 dollar car and the dealership thinks I'm insane but I don't want to be stuck with a 3 year lease that is going to end up hurting someone!!! If I only had an idea of what could cause something like this they would check it out. Could it be a computer or GPS issue? My emergency brake was not on the first time but i put it on and it happened again. Please help!

I had a tubless tire and just got a tube put in it. It is leaking by the vavle stem now. The stem is threaded all the way and has a whaser and 2 nuts. I was wonder if there was anyway to stop the leaking?
