I had a tubless tire and just got a tube put in it. It is leaking by the vavle stem now. The stem is threaded all the way and has a whaser and 2 nuts. I was wonder if there was anyway to stop the leaking?

If you had a tubeless tire, and had a tube installed. The valve stem is connected to the tube, therefore you can't just replace the stem. You would have to replace the whole tube. If it is leaking. Sometimes air will escape from inside the tire for quite a while. All that is, is air trapped between the tire and the tube. If your tire appears to go flat after a while, get the tube replaced.

I used to work on and repair these years ago. If it is leaking at the stem, either the stem is loose and needs to be tightened or you may have a pinch in the tube. If it is a pinch in the tube it will have to be removed and patched. If it has been leaking since the tube was put in then whoever put it in should repair it for free, unless you have run over something and punctured the tire and tube.

The valve caps main purpose is o keep dirt/debris out of the valve stem. if the valve inside were to leak due to not being tight or dirt holding it open the cap may prevent leaks. but if you refill that tire once a week, the dirt would have been forced in. replace the cap and see what happens. check the tire and valve stem with soapy water to help find the leak.

Did you get carried away and over tighten the valve stem? If the valve stem is broken away from tube then the only fix is to put in another or fix the tubeless tire, put it in without the tube plus a new valve.

the real way to fix it is to replace the tube again. for temp. fix use a rubber washer over the stem then a o-ring that just fits, then a flat washer then tighten the nut down. this should work if the leak is on the very bottom of the stem.

One way is to replace the valve that is inside the stem
The other is to buy "Fix-a-flat" fill it and drive it a while (follow the instructions)
either should work
