If I have a heatshield for a catalytic converter that's 10 years old & is worn out; is it ok to have it professionally painted? In my instruction manual it says to never undercoat the heatshield. Can I have it painted by a professional?

When I tried to got it into low. The dashboard light blinked twice then when out. I tried several times, then it finally went into low and the light remained on. When I tried to get it out of low mode, I once again put it back in neutral and pressed the button. The light went out and but the car stayed in low. The light does not even blink when I push the button now. What do I do?

I just got my transmission replaced and the people who did it (cottman transmission) put to much fluid back in and I just noticed it, about 3 months later.

The transmission tries to shift into overdrive a around 50 mph but fails and stays into the same gear but then right away tries again and it works. Would this have anything to do with it?

I last drove my truck on Friday. It is now Monday and it won't start. There has been wintery mix of weather with temps around the 30's probably 20's at night. I did have low gas, but I have added fuel and heet with it still not starting. When I try to start it, it sounds just like it normally would before the engine turns over, but the engine will not turn. The radio and lights work. It is a stick shift car. Is this a bad fuel pump? Roughly how much would it cost to have this fixed if it is a fuel pump? What else could it be and how much would those scenarios be? Thanks for any help!

Does anyone know of any honest reasonable mechanics in the Long Beach area. I am so tired of being ripped off, (since I am a girl) by these dishonest mechanics. I want just an honest person.

So here's the deal, when i slow down at a stop sign or to turn, it goes out and i have to turn it back on. It doesn't do it all the time but now and again and even when it's just parked, it goes out. People have been telling me it's the fuel filter or fuel pump!! Please help me. I have taken it to a Nissan Dealership before but they charge so much and i have become suspicious that they do something else to my car and make me come back. But anyhow, I need some advice on what it is.

i just put my car in the shop to get fixed, and after estimating me and someone else who called to verify, i was quoted for 300. after a day or two i got a call letting me know that the car is done, but there were more repairs to be done and that the final cost will be 480. is this legal, and or what can i do?

My wife has a 5 year old Suzuki Jimny and the engine management light is now permanently illuminated. What could be the problem - it is due for a service. Is this likely to solve the problem?

Thanks for your advise
