year make and model info would be helpful.
usually caused by fan motor resistor failure.

It's most likely the blower motor resistor or the speed control switch.

They all have what the call a heater resistor in the heater box that controls the speed of the fan.It,s probablt burnt.That the default mode when it stops working

The blower resistor is bad. The motor doesn't use it at high speed, so it works then.
