When I tried to got it into low. The dashboard light blinked twice then when out. I tried several times, then it finally went into low and the light remained on. When I tried to get it out of low mode, I once again put it back in neutral and pressed the button. The light went out and but the car stayed in low. The light does not even blink when I push the button now. What do I do?

There are a few tests you can conduct, such as checking the fluid level (and refill if needed), but if that checks out ok then I would have it towed to a reputable automotive transmission repair place such as Aamco.
I would not drive it at all, you stand a chance of making it worse.
You could, I suppose, just for kicks and if you're in the mood, change fluid and filter, but be aware it may do nothing.
