The car is 2004 brand new, in a normal car, the rmp goes to a certain number and then back down when it shifts to the second gear.... this car doesn't, just stays on the same number depending on how you push the accelerator. I took it back to the company and they said this is how its done. when i talked about the burnout thing it was a different problem.... the computer thing could be the problem...that interesting... any other ideas except the computer one?

Automobile is very general so I would like to know the above except with the word automobile replaced "compact car" and "SUV". What I means by "electrical components" is the parts of the car that either use or are run by electricity. Forget the lights, i'm talking abou things that my affect or are related to the engine or things that make cars move or help control the way they move.

Thanks ahead of time.

Due to the water leakage, I used the plastic tape to temporaily seal the leakage (tape both on the car body area and the backlight plastic area), when I removed the tape, the tape wasnt able to be pull out. There are disgusting plastic marks left on the car (both on the car body and the backlight plastic). How would I remove those marks? Please advice. (repost for giving u more details)

The battery of my Toyota Camry died. I purchased one of those Instant Jumpstarting Power Station things (like this one, I think: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/INSTANT-JUMPSTARTING-POWER-PRO-PWR-STATION_W0QQitemZ160045110742QQcmdZViewItem)

The instructions stay connect the black negative clamp to the engine block, cylinder head or other heavy stationary metal engine part?

What does that mean? How do I know what is the engine block, cyliner head or other heavy stationary metal engine part? Help!

Thanks!

truck will turn over a revolution , or maybe a bit more , then the turning over of the engine comes to an abrupt stop. The engine can be turned backward by hand , then the same thing happens all over again. I did pull the belt off , thinking possibly the air pump or an idler pully was froze shut ,(not the case). Any sugestions ?

If I use liquid glass to seal a leak .What type of anti-freeze is best to use? the bottle does not say but I understand some types will eat up the liquid glass.

OK previously posted a question because my vehicle wouldnt start. Problem is: new battery, turn key and engine wont start and there is NO clicking (from starter) like you normally get from a dead battery. Thought it was bad starter or solenoid so took them off (they are built together) and had auto zone test them.... tested good. Have been told it could possibly be ignition coil, or more likely, the neutral safety switch.

OK, so my question is where and how do i go about testing the neutral safety switch? 96 chevy v6 4.3 manual transmission. I have one of those mechanic books for my vehicle, but it doesnt mention the switch, and so far i cant find any helpful info on internet. Thought i would pose the question here and get a jumpstart on my research before i go poking around in my vehicle. Thanks for any help!

I was told it was normal for a 5.4 to tick when its cold, was told its the piston skirt. As soon as it warms up it goes away, I told the mechanic I thought it was a lifter and he says its the piston skirt. He said its normal for a 5.4 with 85,000 or more miles to do this.

I drive about 100 miles during the week and 300-600 miles on the weekends.... My car has an oil leak... I have to put in about 2 quarts every 2-3 weeks... Any ideas on how to baby the car? I make sure to drive pretty much as the car can handle not pushing it.. and I am very careful with stop-n-go traffic... I am easy on the brakes( but I am sure they need to be changed about now).... Again... Just looking for AT HOME remedies in between the trips to the Mechanic... or to prevent the trips to the mechanic.... ( Good thing I live in Mechanicvile NY! : )

Whats with this people wanting to change my brake disc of a 2 year car ?

I have a Toyota and I change the brake this like one time, and it have 14 years (2002)

I understood that the brake disc deteriorate if you dont change your brakes pads on time, when is needed

I have only change my brake pads on time and was on time, as soon as the light sensor went off, I change the pads

Now the sensor is on and I went where I bought the car to buy my pads but it seems they want me to change both front brake discs, so I went to another recognize BMW part shop and they told me I need to change the four of them!

I want second opinion on this cause I dont think its that neccesary or it deteriorate that fast

With your opinion I'll check again in a particular mechanics and see if Im a need of new brake disc

Thanks in advance

I had a transmission check done (diagnosed) with no problems showing about two months ago. However, the last couple days I noticed while trying to accellerate, the RPM's go up (to like 5-7) and the car doesnt move too fast... I looked at the transmission fluid and it is pretty dark. I know it's supposed to be a pink looking color... Plus it has a light burning smell... Do you think that by the fluid being bad, it could cause this RPM / driving problem? In other words, maybe if I get the transmission fluid change, the problem could go away? Thanks.
