The car usually wont stall if you warm it up before driving it. If it does, you have to wait about 5 minutes before restarting it. A while back she said that someone told her to warm it up because that will trick the computer. Does that make sense? Any idea what is going on? I have found some indication this may be a common Buick problem. So far nobody has been able to figure it out.

I have an 87 Olds Cutlass Cierra, I have replaced the starter, and alternater. I was just wondering when I start my car my revs are all over the place. They jump from almost 2000 and then drop to 800 when it gets that low my car stalls. I really don't want to have to 2 foot drive my car. Someone said it was my O2 or knock sensor. Some ppl say they don't even think that cars have knock sensors. So I am really confused.

Hi, I have a 1998 integra GS-R with 130k miles. for the past few months I have been noticing that when I accelerate hard the car hesitates. It will still accelerate but it feels like a hiccup (or severage) during acceperation. This happens at all RPM's. If I accelerate slowly the car will smoothly accelerate to redline... It only hapens when I floor it or give the car alot of gas. Happens in all gears and in all RPM ranges. I dont think its th clutch because the tires will still spin if I drop the clutch from a stop.
I think it's the fuel pump but I'm not sure and dont want to spend the money changing it if I dont have to.
Thanks!

i had a problem with the transmission. they fixed it but then it happened again. so i just took it in for the 3rd time today. its a honda civic ex stickshift with 37k miles. this happened in a short period of time since i took it in for the first time. so it was less than a month that i took it in 3 times. on the receipt they put that they replaced the bearings, and some other thing i forgot because it was making like a rattling sound. but now after taking it for the 3rd time, it seems its getting worse because now the stick is like moving forward and backward after being in gear. so when i have the gas pedal level as im driving like 50 its backward but as soon as i let go of the gas pedal it goes forward. it should not do that because it never did do that and its unusal.

I'm a high school student taking automotive and I have to number the choices on this question 1 - 4 in order. Here they are: catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, muffler, tailpipe. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but I want to be sure. Anybody who has worked on cars is a big help, so thanks.

A man hit me from behind in a automobile accident. I went to the repair shop to check on my car and they told me that I would have to pay a Betterment charge for certain parts. The parts in question were directly related to the automobile accident, and now they want me to pay $200.00 Should I have to pay for this when the accident was not my fault and the insured got the ticket?

I have a 1990 Honda Accord EX 6cyl Automatic...used to have AC, but hasn't worked since I owned the car (bought at auction for a great deal 2 years ago.) The heater seems to be developing a mind of it's own...sometimes it works, sometimes not! One day I'll start it and it's blowing hot air, etc...next day...the fan won't engage to blow anything! It might decide to start up while I'm en route to a destination, but...who knows? When it DOES decide to blow, the toaster seems to be working just great...the switch selector will dial high or low, etc, and all of the buttons designating defrost or whatever work fine. Rear def in the glass still works as fast as ever. It doesn't seem to be the core, but a fan-related malfunction...wiring, or a resistor? Can anyone suggest where I should begin to resolve this problem? I can't afford to pay a shop to 'track' and replace parts with guesswork, so an educated theory might help!
Thanks for any assistance!
It would only happen in winter, eh? Char

I have a 96 Toyota 4runner 3.0 liter and I need to replace the clutch. I am wondering if there is anything in particular that I need to worry about when doing it, as I would like to do it myself. I have moderate experience and am confident that I can do it.

The main thing I am wondering is, what parts am I going to need to buy to do this. I want to buy everything that I will need to do the job in one trip (that has rarely happened in the past) as well as things that I might as well replace while I am in there, as far as maintanence.

Thanks.

I own a 97 Mustang covertible and I have looked EVERY WHERE for these keys and after a week of searching, I cannot find it. The car continues to sit in the front driveway and I need it moved. I cannot take it out of Park without the key to it.
First, how much does a new car key cost for a car? If too much, I will just sell it to the local junk yard. It's a nice car, but I cannot afford over $200 to rekey it.

Any responses appreciated. Thanks.

On a 2001 Kia: My friends car is having starting problems. He's replaced the battery and the altenator. He had to jump it off twice last night to get it home. My meter shows that the battery has 12.1v charge, but it won't start on its own power. We jumped it off and removed the cables, then my meter showed a flucuation in charge. It went from 12v to 13.5v then down to 9.2v and shot up to 22.5v and dropped to 7.0v.

I suspect a faulty voltage regulator but am not sure since the car won't start (acts like a dead battery-click,click).

After all this I discovered that the neg. cable was loose so I tightened it up. THEN, he told me that he was running a 2,000w amp for his stereo. I believe that he will keep going through altenators as long as he's running that amp!!

Assuming he quits running the amp, should I check out anything else. We're going to go ahead and replace this altenator.
