Yes. Because I was ill and couldn't do it myself I had the belt done on my 405 and they didn't change the pump. The bearings collapsed a week later luckily the belt didn't jump any teeth and I heard it when it was ticking over and stopped it straight away and so no damage was done. Always put a kit in with new idler pullys The extra exspense will always pay and a good selling point if you sell the car

Yes!
If your going to be keeping the car for a while then it makes sense.
If the water pump starts to wear / rattle then it'll take out the timing belt...bad times ahead then!
The main fault with the Pugs however, is the roller kit that the belt goes around.
These wear, and are the cause of belt breakages.
Always replace this at the time of the belt.
80000 miles is recommended by manufacturer, but 60k is a safe bet.
Good Luck.......

as a my husband is a trained mechanic his recommendation is to seriously take it to a Peugeot dealer.
i know they charge more but the work will be guaranteed, and he has had so many people come to him after they have attempted to do it themselves. so they end up paying out just as much in the end.
if the belt is fitted incorrectly you will seriously damage your engine and there is every chance you will then have to replace the engine.
dont do it !!!
