i own a repair shop, and if it happened before with the old transmission in it also,,it may have something to do with the shift control solenoid in it,let me ask you this,,did you flush all the transmission lines out real good on it including the radiator,,because if you didn't ,all the gunk from the old transmission will now be in the new transmission also, there's a cooler in the radiator that will hold some of this junk, and it may cause the one you bought to go out in it also,,all you can do is start checking things on it to make sure there all tight and check the fluid level, see if its full and clean looking,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.

the car is moving into the overdrive gear...it shouldnt be a hard shift or slam into over drive... it may need a slight adjustment in either the computer control module or if theres alot of miles on the car and the trans fluid hasnt been change and the filter is dirty as well, it can bring this about. should also pull the trans dip stick and see if its simply low on fluid, if it is, add some and see if that doesnt cure it. a hard shift to me though when entering over drive more means the computer brain needs some attention to even it out. consult the owners manual to see if you're over due for a trans oil change out; if so, any reputable garage vs dealer will flush n refill the trans. Dealer will charge twice as much as an oil change house will. and this all presumes its an automatic trans.

your 3-4 clutches could be shot, or if you have an engine light on. the computer may have put the transmission in limp mode. Does the transmission start in second? If it does, then you need to check codes in computer. If not, check fluid. If fluid is burnt, then you most definately have damaged 3-4 clutches. This will require and overhaul unfortunately.

sounds like u have some bad wiring going to the shift solenoids in the transmission valve body. check the resistence of the solenoids out side of the trans housing there should be a connector. u'll need a wiring diagram to tell what wires are what. if thats good check the wires to the pcm from the solenoids.

Sounds like it's stuck in "kickdown" mode.

Bad vacuum line, or computer problem.
