The car is 2004 brand new, in a normal car, the rmp goes to a certain number and then back down when it shifts to the second gear.... this car doesn't, just stays on the same number depending on how you push the accelerator. I took it back to the company and they said this is how its done. when i talked about the burnout thing it was a different problem.... the computer thing could be the problem...that interesting... any other ideas except the computer one?

dodge man, your right about the saftey feature, its probably the computer....but i just want you to imagine this....you have the accelerator kicked all the way down, and the car's rpm jumps to 6 and stays there....so the speedometer keeps increasin speed like a normal car but the rpm meter just gets stuck on 6000rpm the whole time....i hope you get it....

So, you believe the meter and what it shows? The tachometer (the one that shows engine rpm) may be faulty. That's no big deal. You said so yourself the engine is picking up speed as the rpm increases. That's the way it should be.

I see no problem here. If the car functions normally, changes gears (auto tranny) as the way it should then the tacho must be changed, may be cable is stuck. Nowadays they use a sensor at the engine to transmit the rpm info. to the tacho. Sensor could be faulty. I do not know about earlier models whether they had it then. It is not that big of a deal.

Save your money unless it is under manuf. warranty.

Your dealer warranty may be there but they will try to wriggle out of it. You can force them to look at the problem by being a pain in their butt knowing fully well it is not affecting the driveability of your car.

Sorry, start over and ask one question at a time. A 2004 is not brand new, 2004 is almost 3 years old. What burnout thing? What computer problem?

I get the impression you think you are adding information to a question already asked. You aren't. You have started a new question and I have no idea what you are talking about.

the throttle sticking could be three things, the pedal is catching in the floor mat,the cable is frayed and catching or the throttle body is jambing wide open, with the car turned of try disconnecting the throttle cable under the hood and open the throttle body all the way,see if it catches ,then try the pedal from inside to see if it moves smoothly or is binding

note,i checked for recalls and campaigns and the only thing i found was a fault for the throttle position sensor, maybe the dealer needs to put a little more time into diagnosis

these cars have a built in rev limiter in them to stop them from over revving this sounds like what you trying to say it wont allow it to rev up high, and this is controlled by the computer,,in it,,i think this is what your getting at,,the only way around this is to change the computer,,there designed to be that way from the factory, its supposed to be a safety feature,,but it turns out to be a real pain,,but i think this is what you mean,,good luck with it.
