My brakes make this horrible sound when I stop. My brakes sound like they're grinding metal or something and someone said it's the roters and someone else says I just need brake pads. Which is it? I don't want to look foolish when I get it fixed.

It is a 2004 Ford Focus. I have 2 different keys and neither one of them work no matter which way I insert them. I have tried moving the steering wheel but it is locked. I have also found a way to get it out of gear to see if the key will move then, but it still won't.

The tow truck guy is coming to get it right now but I'm curious what could be the problem? It's not even 2 years old yet!!!

Its a old junker so I don't care if I damage it, can I set it up to be hotwired and not need a key?

My son's '93 Neon' right tail light works on and off. The left one has no problem. He has changed the fuse, checked the light itself. He was told it is probably electrical. Any suggestions on how and where to start checking? It seems obvious its something directly attached to that rear light. Signal and backup works on and off also. I think it's a loose wire, but have no idea where to look. Someone mentioned Dielictic Grease on another tail-light Q. Where is that found and would it affect only one light? Where is the Harness connector found? Thanks in advance.

I have a 2000 jeep cherokee and when the weather got cold it started to leak fluid I found a hose with a hole in it, but while i was checking Jeep I found a thick Dirt in Radiator. What is this? Friends say it Could be Ginger to repair hole I haven't had this car long 2Months what else could it be.

Due to the water leakage, I used the plastic tape to temporaily seal the leakage, when I removed the tape, the tape wasnt able to be pull out. There are disgusting plastic marks left on the car. How would I remove those marks? Please advice.

Sorry, I posted about this earlier and don't know how to edit that post or respond to those who answered... but thanks to all for responding... i thought it was 'overheating' because the coolant itself is getting very hot and bubbling up and steam/smoke is coming from under the hood, but it's true that the temp gauge in the car is not indicating overheating. I had the system flushed not too long ago and no problems popped up at that time. Maybe the better question is, being a single female, how do I present this problem to a mechanic without getting raked over the coals?

Renault Clio 2003, 1.2litres. Battery died, and I replaced it. The motor itself runs just fine. However, I now need to have the electronic system reset as it all went haywire after the battery died (warning lights telling me the brakes are kaput, which is just not so, as they are all but new), and this is a job I cannot do myself. Does anybody have any idea how much this will cost please? (I'm in Italy and, on the basis of a LOT of bad experiences here with getting ripped-off, I am wary...so, all advice gratefully received). Thanks to all who take the time to reply.

I own a 1989 GTA trans am with the 350.Just recently it begin to have problem's starting,cold or hot.alot of people told me it was this or that.It wasnt over heating ,but I changed out the water pump and thermastat.oil change and tune up.Everytime got in it,it started up and then only started when it felt like it.So I go and change out the fuel idle mixture motor,and again it started up fine a few weeks pass and i go to leave and it wont start.Put on a new fuel filter that's outside the gas tank.and again it did fine for a few weeks.So this last time it did this I took off my gas cap and she started right up.So I replaced it.What would be the prob if it continues,the check engine light stays on.

this guy i know does it all the time. he says its good for the car. i say it washes out the protective oil in the engine. Also wastes more gas and can flood the car.

While driving yesterday the check engine light started flashing and now my car is idling rough. Additionally, it is not accelerating as normal and is rough especially just after switching into a new gear. To kick me while I am down the window got stuck going up today and won't go up, although it looks like it is trying. Any ideas as to what could be ailing in my car or how much it could cost? Thanks!

I've had this car in warmer weather before, and this has never happened previously. Is there something I can do to avoid this?

Frame of reference: yes, I do know what cold is. I moved recently from California to Chicago, and we've had 2 degree Fahrenheit weather over here recently.

Does an Edlebrock Carburator SAY the words Edlebrock on the top half and Weber on the bottom half?? Even if Weber made a carb for Edlebrock wouldnt it all either SAY weber on it or SAY Edlebrock on it ??
