it should still be under warranty if done within the past 30 days by a mechanic shop, read your receipt for conditions. if they don't honor it then pursue the matter in small claims.

otherwise, look for a new mechanic. you do not want to be driving when the engine falls or drops!

All Ford Taurus's are front wheel drive, so if you replaced just the "motor " mounts you still have a problem. Have the transmission mounts replaced also, and that should fix your problem. To check this yourself, have a good friend sit in the sear behind the steering wheel with the motor running, place left foot on the brake pedal (hard) and put transmission in gear (D) then accelerate engine to see if it "lifts" the engine to one side. Decrease engine speed to idle and put transmission in (R) and repeat process. If the total movement from side to side is greater than 1 -1/2 in then see your mechanic...if not that much movement... then mounts are o.k.

Sounds like the mounts are broken or just loose, if you had them replace, then I would say that yes, they should look at it again, and tell you what is the problem, they will rock when you put them in and out of gear, but if you step on the gas hard enough, you can feel the engine move a little bit, but if it is rocking hard, then take it back where you had the work done for sure

Motor mounts have rubber on them for absorbing slight movement. If it moves a lot check your tranny mounts. That holds up the back half of the engine.

Check the transmission mount. If it is loose or broke, then it will shake the motor.
