I bought a Ford KA in 2003. It was a 51 plate. I bought it from a main dealer Reg Vardy Walsall. I saw the car in a holding lot at the back of the dealership. It had an alarm air con etc. Decided I wanted it, it had 22K, now has 39K on the clock. Went and completed the paperwork and purchased the car picked it up a week later and the alarm had been removed as standard. I told them I bought a car with an alarm and wanted it back they took the car and fixed the alarm. Then it got a leak from where the alaram was fitted I took it back. The engine light was stuck on when it was returned I took it back. The heater broke. Air con broke. Then it failed the MOT 2005 on the steering rack I took it back. it has just failed the MOT 2006 on the steering rack again. It has been classed as dangerous on the MOT fail paperwork. Any advice? I'm going to have to drive it back again to get it done and it's leathal? Is under warranty till 07, can they collect it? Who can I complain to? Help!!!!!

We have a Vauxhall Vectra (an Opel something or other outside Britain), and both keys fail to open the central locking when you press the buttons. The lights on the car have gone on although we can see they are not switched on, and we can't get into the car. Apparently the keys will work manually but only if the car was locked manually, which it wasn't. Now the manual is in the car, the nearest Vauxhall garage is not nearby, like in any of the nearest towns, and we are not going to break into the car. Any ideas? And will the lights stay on indefinitely and drain the battery?

I have a after maket carb ( Holly ) on my Jeep cherokee. The inline fuel filter looks kinda big.( I just replaced it with the same size that was on it before ) when i Turn left it seems like the motor starves for fuel just a little then catches back up with it self when i get going again. Im wondering if the filter is to big. does it matter how big the filter is?...I was wondering if the entire filter canester should be full of gas. When its running only half the filter is full of gas. SO MY QUESTION IS: should i put a smaller filter on it?. does it matter? it's a regular inline plastic see through filter. ( I bought this Jeep from an older guy who put the carb and filter on it. Im wondering if he knew what he was doing.

I have a 1997 Ford Ranger and my passenger side seat belt buckle (the female end) is broken. How would i replace that?

A friend of mine told me that it is connected to the bolts that hold the seat down, but i can't see that far and don't want to waste a bunch of time unbolting a seat if that isn't correct.

Anybody got a clue? I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Where can I find instructions on how to do an oil change on a certain specific car? More to the point, how do I get step by step instructions to do one? Since I've never done one by myself.

I have a brand new 2006 Hyundai Sonata. Just this week, when my car sits for about 4 hours, I start it up and there is a horrible loud squealing noise from the front right of the car. It lasts about 3 to 5 seconds and is gone. If I start my car after a couple minutes or while the engine is still warm, there is no sound. There are no other problems besides that. It doesn't sound like a fan belt squeal. It almost sounds like there is something getting caught in the fan and shredded up while it's squealing. I have only had the car for a month. I knew I shouldn't have gotten rid of my Toyota Corolla!!!

Any ideas??? Of course if I take it to the dealer, the noise won't happen unless it sits for hours. I just need something to get me started to figure out what is wrong...

I am stationed overseas and my son is in college in the USA~
My son has a 1995 Explorer 4WD with 170K miles on it. The tranny was shifting improperly, flashing O/D light and was bumping while in gear - long story short, after 4 visits to the shop over a period of 6 months to get the "computer reset", it quit shifting and ended up with a $2300 transmission overhaul and VSS sensor replacement. 3 months after the O/H, the transmission was lurching when coming to a stop at a light. -Tranny under warranty - the lads at the tranny shop "reset the computer" and are telling him that the computer may be failing and it is causing his symptoms, additionally they say this computer could be what caused his tranny to burn up in the first place. My questions are:
- what is this computer
- where is it located
- how much do they cost
- are the tranny lads taking my son (he's bright but not echanically inclined) for a ride?

I have a 1999 Olds Alero. It runs and drives great, and it usually starts up fine. About every fourth or fifth start up, the RPM's jump around and the car stalls out. I restart it and everything is fine, the RPM's go directly to between 500-1000 and it idles great. There are no warning lights lit up on the dash. It never stalls when I am driving or stopped, just those few times on start up. Any suggestions on where to look?

While driving down highway on set speed or have cruise control set, when all of a sudden your speed odometer drops to zero and later starts back up. What does this mean? Why does this do that? Also, when the odometer is not working and I have stopped, it sounds like it won't shift gears so have to pull off, turn car off then start it back up before drives right. Anybody have any ideas about this? No guessing, I NEED to KNOW so Please help!!

I just recently bought a car with a turbo diesel engine (a smart car), but I don't know much about diesel. Is it safe to switch between regular diesel and, say, Sunoco's Gold Diesel, and any of the other diesel types out there?

I had just started the car (I had to press the accelerator over the past month so it wouldn't die, sometimes even at trafic lights, basically the rpms would idle iratically -usually underreving the engine), anyhow, at about 200 yards from my house I heard a 'thump' coming from the engine after which the engine kept running but all the gears from Park to Low have no effect on the car -- I gotta say that now the shifter works/slides quite easily!

Anybody?
