I have a 2005 Toyota Camry that is coming up for the 15k service. I called up the Toyota dealers in the bay area and was asked to pay anywhere from $140 to $200. Basically, this service includes engine oil and filter change and a couple of inspections.
Walmart does the oil change anywhere from $16.44 to $39.97. Besides, they have the 15-point inspection. I was told that does not include checking brake fluid and coolant.
What do the dealers give over walmart? Does it make sense to pay the big bucks for the 15K service?
Thanks.

And I must wait at least an hour to start it again which means that I can't turn it off if I go to the store or something 'cause it won't start. And I must get a jump to have it start. Do you know what I should do? I thought that maybe it was my battery but I got it tested and it said that it was good. And lately, I hear the exhaust fan run when I start my car.

Van quit moving while being driven. I towed it home, it wouldn't go into any gear, after sitting for a week it will now go into forward or reverse but won't up shift in drive, it kicks out of gear at about 25 mph, if iI shut the engine off and restart it it will repeat this all day. Fluid level is fine, not burned. 3.8 V-6 w/Automatic OD , 178000 miles.

I have an 01 bonneville and a code recenlty came up about my transmission. My mechanic ( who I work with ) says it could run forever the way it is or it could eventually give out. To fix it would cost me at least 2 grand. What should I do? I would love to just get a new car but I still owe a good chunk on the one I'm driving plus I really cant afford to fix it right now.

I'm considering converting my cabriolet to R134A. Is there a special conversion kit for my car? What other parts am I going to have to replace? How painful is the process? I work on my cars all the time, I've just never actually screwed with the A/C before.

I have replaced the Themostat and checked Heatercore there is no leak in the Core. I was wondering if it may be the themostat control in the cabin(heat and cold dial), or is there a seperate sensor or control relay or something I am missing. I normaly work on GM and Volvo not much Ford Exp. Oh yeah it does pump warm air for a second then it stops. Thanks for your input.

I have a 1999 Ford Explorer. The AC was working fine until this year and now it just blows out thru the top vents. Although it is still blowing cold air it tends to fog my windshield. I tried this on Edmonds with no luck.

in my car?? It leaks a little oil and I thought that the higher weight oil would leak less than the lower weight oil. Is this true? I use 10w-30 oil at the moment and live in the north east where it gets cold in the winter.

As described, it seems when I'm going at a reasonable rate, 30+, mostly uphill, and it presumably at a time when it needs to downshift, it seems to rattle. Rattle as in like rattlesnake rattle, except metallic sounding. Also in a previous question, I mentioned it stalls a second sometimes when putting it in reverse and seems to jar when it kicks in, the same also happens on the highway once in a while and it's very unnerving, the jarring when going up in gear. It's got about 150k miles on it. Had no problems out of it except what seems to be the tranny. Thanks.

Also 4x4 if it's relative. Sometimes I put it in reverse and it takes perhaps a second for it to kick in and when it does, it's a little jarring. Is it the flywheel in the tranny or am I completely wrong? I'm just taking an unexperienced guess. Thanks.

I have a 90 Corolla automatic - after going for a long drive, I cant get the car to start. When i turn the key, there is a click then no sound whatsoever. Got advice that this was a battery problem, so got a new one...but the problem is still there. If i wait for 3 hours or so, the car will start. Any ideas?
