The 1954 Corvette oil filter is a filter cartridge that is inserted into a metal canister. So you remove and replace the filter material but reuse the metal holder. The first Corvette came to us in 1953.
The first replaceable oil filter came on a Chrysler in 1924.
Though I am no Corvette know-it-all, I do think the first Corvette would have this technology almost 30 years later.
Autozone lists the Fram C4 and C4P as fitting the 1954 Corvette with a 6 cylinder 235 cu.in. engine.

Perhaps not, as a lot of cars and trucks -pre 1955 didnt. if you are restoring , or own one it would be wise to install an in line external filter, as they all still hadto have an oil pump to get the oil from the sump to the top end of the motor(the head) for lubrication,and you can usualy break into this line and add an external pump.Optionaly-(and this would be my choice)--leave it original, drive it with pride--not speed,and do regular oil changes
