You car needs 5 qt total.
If you are changing the oil, look on the oil cap and it will tell you what grade( 10W20-10W30)
The key here is the filter. get a good quility filter( fram is not a good quility) Yes it is cheep but cheep is not good.
Get an ACfilter or a Napa Gold
These filters will keep it clean and make the car last longer.

Most probably the wiper switch is faulty. Try an Auto Electrician and get his opinion on this fault.

I've got as 1999 and it takes 4.3 quarts. Better look in your owner's manual and make sure, though!

i believe 41/2 quarts...you can call your local parts store and they can tell you
