Well I hear you. Go to the auto parts store and get the manual.
It has step by step instructions.
I must add this though. If you don't do the job correctly, it could cause someone to get hurt. Breaks are not a job for a lay-men
I understand you need to save money but ha shop around. Call a few places and see what it would cost. There are moble mechanics that you buy the breaks thy will install them for you.
Hope this helps and thank you for your question

If your just changing the pads, it's easy
You'll need the wheel wrench, Hex wrenchs, Big flat screwdriver, Adjustable wrench.
The instructions depend on what caliper is on the car, as I've never done a jetta, I'll assume it's similar to a rabbit.
1. Remove wheel
2. Insert big screw driver between pad a disc
3. Pull back screw driver to push piston back into caliper. Do this SLOWLY, if you try and rush this part you'll break the o-rings in the caliper.
4. Undo the 2 hex bolts
Remove caliper
5, take out the split pins on the back
6. Pull pad slide out
7. Catch old pads
8. Do the above in reverse order.
9. when the caliper is back on, press the break pedal a few times to re pressurize.

If it has anti squeel shims, note the positioning before removing the old pad.

The first wheel will take about an hour, mainly for you to figure it out.
Second wheel 10 mins.

Good luck - it really is easy.

your car just uses metric tools,,but the procedure is a little different for a jetta,,as far as the front pads go to change you don't want to press the calipers in without loosening the bleeder screws first, this may mess the calipers up on it,,if you,ll take your time,,you can do this,,just be Care full,,and watch exactly how you take them off,,and when you install them take your time,,also,,after there installed,,when you first mash the pedal down,,do it slowly,,a few times,,this prevent air from entering,,and then they should be OK,also check,,and make sure you don't need the rotors turned on it,,i hope this help,s.,,good luck with it.
