My advice would be first to immediately check the oil level, and look under the vehicle for leaks. Also, check for any thing that looks loose...wires, hose, etc. Assuming that the oil is at the proper level and nothing's leaking, go to your local Auto Zone, Advance Auto parts, or similar store...they can hook the vehicle up to a code reader (for free) that will indicate the source of the code that's causing the light to come on....usually this is a bad sensor (oxygen sensor, etc) but could be something else. They can tell you precisely. Also, just to cover bases, remove and then re-attach your gas filler cap...they have been known to cause false codes, as have plugged air filters.

In short...assuming they did the oil change properly and nothing's leaking, this check engine light could just be a coincidence.

Hope this info helped.

probably nothing they did but they could have left an air filter sensor unplugged. Or it could just be the change oil soon light didnt get reset. To reset this turn your key forward to the on positioin(not starting it) then stomp the gas pedal all the way to the floor 3 times and the change oil light should go off.

They may have just left off the oil filler cap. I wouldn't take any chances though. I had a friend that went to a cut-rate oil change place and the truck started leaking all the oil out without her knowing it. She found out at the mall when the truck would no longer start! (EEEKKK)

have it checked out by a well known local mechanic... and then never take it to WalMart again... not really known for their automotive services. Good Luck

Probably since it's Walmart, but you just need to reset, check out your owners manual.

you probally had the oil changed and then you went to fill up for gas and then you didn't tighten up gas cap enough causing light to come on.
