What tires would you recommend for a 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora. It came from the factory with Michelin MXV4 Energy P235/60VR16 and these tires are useless in winter for control/traction.

I put a 3" lift and 33" tires on my 1987 Dodge Dakata and since then I go through front brakes way too much. If I need larger calipers, rotors etc. what kind of vehicle can I get them from to be compatible? I can't afford new aftermarket stuff and I have a pretty well stocked junkyard nearby. Year and make suggestions if you know.

My brother and I bought 2 new bikes for a summer vacation. His 1200 Bandit leaked gas and ruined the motor before it got 2000 miles. We asked Suzuki to replace the motor so we could go on vacation. They said it’s to expensive and would $3000. After 4 months and the vacation gone they got the motor rebuilt at a cost of $3700. The dealer wanted to replace the motor but Suzuki squashed that. We called Japan for nothing, and even wrote the US CEO all for nothing. We spent $15,000 for the bikes to get Fd. We spent our vacation hassling with Suzuki, and not one person there gave a F! Beware Suzuki’s warranty is not worth the paper it’s printed on! Buy one of their lemons are get Fd like we did!

Sometimes it will start and she can drive it, other times, it won't start and she will have to wait awhile for it to start again and it will either start, or, it will start, but eventually die while she's driving it. Does anybody have any explanation on why this is happening to her car?

What could be causing my cruise control to automatically come on in my car? We did have a real bad thunderstorm today when I was at work and it happened on my way home. The cruise control light comes on and then the gas pedal goes down on it's own. The car will stop when I brake. I am going to get it looked at tomorrow, but wondering what the possibilities could be? And if you have ideas, about how much to fix if that were the problem?

I know that increased pressure/volume/coldness of air intake should theorectically increase acceleration with fully open throttle - but what gives substantial differences? any other recommendations?

I have a 89 mercury cougar LS. The check engine light is on and I want to know if it is possible to jumper two of the terminals on the ecc plug to read the code. On GM's you can do this. Does anybody know how to do this on a Mercury? What terminals do you jumper?

When I brought my car, I was told that I would need a oxygen sensor. Could that be the reason why my car isn't getting the pressure that it needs? I have had a complete tune-up. Before I contact a repairman, I would like to at least know what I should tell him to look for. The car ran fine for at least a month. Please offer any advice that you can.

My boss just called me for advice. Apparently, an employee was driving the company vehicle (a 96 Ford 150van, 4.9L w/ 300k miles), when the employee heard a "pop", and smoke started coming in through the vents.
I can also tell you that the van had developed a "miss" yesterday, like it had dropped a cylinder. I was planning on checking the plugs/wires/distributor today- before this happened.
Any relation btwn the two?

I have a friend in Michigan that wants to come here to Wisconsin, but she's not too sure if her car is reliable because she says that when shes going up a hill with the car, the car looses strength and she has to put on (the car is stick) second gear right away or it'll turn off. do you know whats wrong with it? Do you think its reliable?

I spent $1500 on a `999 Town and Country that has $150,000 miles on it - New Tires, Belt, Spark plugs, Oil tank rebuilding etc...the mechanic is someone I trusted and don't think took me for a ride. and still runs well. NADA value is about $6000. If there is further need for repair...how do I decide to spend the money or dump the car?
Is there a formula that says how much to spend on a car based upon milage and NADA price?
