Check the recommendation in your owner's manual. Most filters get changed at intervals of 15K, 20K, 25K or 30K. This interval is affected by the type of service duty the vehicle is doing. In severe service conditions, replacement is more frequent.

Refer to your owner's manual. If you are driving in dusty conditions you will change your filter much more often. If you're concerned, go with a reusable filter (such as K&N), just don't go hog wild with the oil or it will ruin your intake sensors if you're running fuel injection.

I am assuming that you are talking about the engine air filter...not the cabin air filter. Check it once a year of 15000 miles

anywhere from 12000-15000 is normal life of an air filter. Check it at 12k and go from there.
