It doesn't happen all the time when I drive, but usually kicks in within 15 mins of operating my vehicle. I drive a 2002 Ford Escape. When I turn the radio off I can hear a hissing noise coming from underneath the dash. It sounds like sssssss.... When I tap on the break it stops, so I assume it has to do with the breaking system. No break lights have come on yet. Should I take the car into Ford to find out what the problem is?

I have a 2000 chevy cavalier with a 2.2L and I need to know how to install a aftermarket turbo? The turbo is one that bolts up to the intake manifold.

Go to stick the key in the ignition, and the key won't turn either way, just stuck. Tried the spare key, same thing. Can't exactly take the car to the shop, since I can't get the car to start. Can hear the dinging noise when the door is open. The radio stays on now, even though there is no key in the ignition.

There is a flap in the tail pipe that is regulated by a fuse. When the Rpm's reach 3500 the flap closes and the exhaust then sounds awsome. Below 3500 rpm's the sound is very tame. I would like to know how to keep flap closed at all times to improve the sound at lower speeds and rpm's. When at idle the car is very quite as it is now.....It only sounds good at higher rpm's and I wish to change that if possible. Do you know how to do this? I ask at the dealer and was told by them that there is a fuse that controlls that but said removing the fuse would also have an effect on what ever else it may controll. Help! Where is that fuse?
thanks
bob

We checked the battery, the starter, and the solenoid. All are fine. The ignition switch is working properly. We changed out the battery cables, and checked the wiring between the ignition switch, the starter, and the battery. It makes a single "click" when we try to start it, but won't even attempt to turn over. What should we do next?

Behind the passener tire u-joint (towards the engine side of ball joints) there is some sort of hard platic ring (not exactly sure what it is) that the axle shaft seems to pass through. I was under the vehicle and noticed that this "hard plastic ring" is sliding back and forth about an inch along the axle, but to me it looks like it should be seat against axle housing. Is there a retaining clip missing or something? Is this going to pose a problem for me if I continue to drive it this way? I just had the wheel u-joints replaced a couple of months ago, did the mechanic make a mistake? Wish I could describe the problem better but I am not a mechanic by any means. Any info you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

im in the process of doing a few mods to my car, the next on my list was to get it chipped. the one im looking at can be turned on and off so was told at my own risk not to inform insurance company as it would be very difficult to be found if involved in any incedent, to risky or worth it?
