Also, I drive a 05 legacy GT. Are there any upgrades I should consider? My stock brakes stink.

a place that does brakes

I can't tell you the best place to do brakes, because I always do them myself. But be wary of places that offer a ridiculously low price. There are always hidden charges that will inflate the bill substantially. Also, lifetime pads aren't always the best deal either, as they will squeak enough to drive you crazy. I would find a shop that uses OE brake pads. Don't expect a low price when getting your brakes done. Many times, more parts are worn out and will need to be replaced at a substantial extra cost. This is why I do my own unless they are under warranty. And any legitimate shop will tell you the same thing.

check your driving habits if you think your brakes arent performing properly having been in the business long enough to learn how people drive affects the way their car performs i always like to go for a ride with any customer that tells me that something doesnt work correctly also if you do need brakes take it to someone that actually knows what they are doing if you dont and if they are a reputable mechanic then they will explain what work your car needs to have done to it if any, and most good mechanics will give you a written estimate up front so you know what you are expecting cost wise. you dont have to do all the work recommended but if its being recommended find out why

"ssb" and "brembo" offer brake upgrade packages. If your brakes are worn out from excessive use and wear then any reputable foreign car repair shop can put new pads on and turn the rotors, but if there is a problem other than wear take your car back to the dealer you should still be under warranty.

I would avoid the general auto repair shop because they bill by
the hour. You will usually spend more money on brakes going this route. Go to a business that specializes in brakes. They
will get you in and out more quickly.

Les Shwabb Tire Center! They do excellent work, just make SURE they actually TORQUE the wheels. I have gotten warped rotors from NOT watching them. They are a busy place, and usually what they do is use a "rattle gun" to put them on, then apply a torque wrench. The problem is this. the rattle gun they use BYPASSES the preset torque on their wrenches. Unless they are using torque rods you will find that the nuts will all be different.

Its very easy to change your brakes. Buy the Chilton Manual for the car u own and they'll show u step by step to remove and install your new brakes.

U'r brakes should not be due by now....U must have some problems somewhere... I have a 03 WRX, I still have everything original. Take it to a dealership...get that addressed first. U should have warranty cover any major fix.

Where do you live? I can't recommend anywhere if I don't know where you live.

I would go to either a brake place or a small time mechanic.
