how do you hook it up and wat is the difference between mechanical and electronic???

call Summit Racing, Akron Ohio. They have a toll free line, and a web site. Do a search on them, the toll free munber is on the site. They can give you the wiring info for your brand of tach. (example: Black wire to... Green wire to...)
But one wire will connect to your coil on the distributor side.
And if you need a tach, they sell close to every one on the market.

Check on www.bulldog.com for the bulldog security system installation on that car. It will give you the color code and location of the tach wire because they use them to tell the alarm when the engine is running. That's the easiest way. Good luck. I don't think I've ever seen a "mechanical" tach except on a motorcycle.
