First timer here seeking help!

Before I take the car to the shop, I thought I'd check here. Drove the car in the morning. In the evening, it wouldn't start. Nothing when I turned the key. The electrical was fading - clock was dim and power seats were struggling.

Two days later, it was completely dead - electrical, too. I tried to jump it. When connected to the other car (which was running), I turned the key and got only a second of sound (trying to start). It wouldn't start. The electrical all worked fine while connected to the other car.

What's this sound like? Starter, alternator, something else? Thanks in advance for your help!

My car has been having trouble starting lately, and it hesitates from time to time. I't's never done this before. I've had the car 4 years +, and never had a tune-up. Only oil changes. Every owner's manual and car guide I've looked at recommends scheduled tune-ups, but my mechanic says I shouldn't bother. Just change the oil he says. What do you say?

According to the MOT regulator a mirror has to be visible from the driver's seat, not distorted or damaged so as to seriously impair the driver's view to the rear.
My Mirrors glass is not broken, and is fully functional electronicaly, it got knocked off its mounting by a pheasant some time ago.
But is very secure with duck tape wrapped around the mounting. Would this cause it to fail the MOT?

i got my cars head repaired and it still lacked power then the other day i was driving up a hill on the freeway not to steep and i heard a loud pop then the car lost all power and when i lifted the hood it was on fire. is it possible that the work the mechanic did on the heads would cause the car to catch fire?

Repeat of previous question. I have a 2000 protege 1.6 engine w/101197 miles. I hae been told the crank shaft bearings is loose and the car will leave me stranded. What shoul I expect when it does die and can any one tell me of a cheap way to remedy the problem. I don't have money for a new engine and I certainly don't have money for a new car-used or not. Will using a thicker oil help or create more problems. My oil light keeps flickering because i'm told with the bearing loose, it does not creat enought oil pressure. I like to visit my daughter in Austin from time to time, but the mechanic said that it will leave me stranded if I tried to do too much hiway driving. HELP!!!!!

I took apart the steering column and found the bearing on the front closest to the steering wheel was busted. My question is, can I simply buy a new bearing and push it on or does it have to be pressed on by a hydralic shop press?

We just changed the front brakes and the brakes dont work. Parts guy said bleed them. We did-but while bleeding them he made me pump the brakes the whole time. Didnt work. Parts guy said push in, bleed, let off, etc for all the brakes. Worked a little. Can you tell me in gory detail how to bleed brakes for dummies?
