Ok.....I took my car to the car dealership to get the motor mounts changed on Monday..........(Cavalier....2000) When I got it back my Anti-Lock Breaks light popped on after the place closed.........Could this have happened because of something that they might have done or is it because it wore out..........
I don't want to be charged for something that they might have done if it is something that they may have caused when pulling the motor up alittle to replace the mounts.........
what do you think?.....

My Haynes book said the flasher was in a compartment behind a panel in the glove box. There was no compartment.

I found a block behind the fuse box (near the driver's left knee) that had 2 cylindrical and 1 rectangular module (one is the "hazard" flasher). When I removed them all, the turn signal lights still came on, so I assume none of those was the signal flasher.

The autozone guy said to look near the steering column, under the dashboard, above the kickplate. I don't see anything remotely like the new flasher I bought that is supposed to fit this car.

At a car repair Q&A website, some guy said he found the flasher "on the end of a wire, not connected to anything, just hung over a heater hose". There were some heater/cooler ducts under the dash but I saw nothing like that and no wires I pulled seemed to be unhooked at either end.

I would appreciate any ideas, even crazy ones.

I will be buying some new tires, and I want to know if and when I should get an alignment? How many miles do I have to wait for?

In Jacksonville, NC, who will inspect my car with too dark tint on the windows? I see cars with windows totally black with current inspection stickers. I don't want to scrape my tint just to get inspected. Don't have that kind of $$$.

Right before the car starts, I hear a short buzz, almost as if it is under the dash. Then the car starts, but weakly, as if the battery was weak. Any idea what I should check other than the battery?

I am not talking about things that you can easily verify. I am talking about "flushing the radiator", "replacing parts that are not readily visible such as timing belt etc". Do you just trust the shop or is there a reliable way to verify the work?

My car is a 93 Acura Vigor and a oil pan that is aluminum with a 3/4" crack. The problem is getting to the oil pan. It is not a simple job of just undoing 12 or 16 bolts. It requires that the 2 front axels and differential be removed. If I can get the pan off I know I can get it fixed or I would replace it with a use or new unit.

I'm thinking of using hi-temp epoxy like JB-Weld first as a temp fix. Good idea or not?

I am at 94k miles and am going to do my own tuneup. I have been told that newer trucks may not need to be timed. And would like to know if that is true or not.

I got a sweet deal on a 1970 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser that's been in storage for 2 years. It was running when garaged (in a very hot climate) but now it won't start. I need suggestions on the best procedures to get her ready to run. I'll put in a new battery, new gasoline, new plugs, change the oil, and flush and refill the radiator. Tips? Suggestions? Thanks!

97 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
While driving driver will experience a sudden and violent jerk followed by slight loss of power. Will jerk badly enough to make tires squeal, very violent and dangerous. Almost like you are slamming on the brakes but you're not. Doesn't die. Might happen multiple times.
It got progressively worse over week period. Changed oil, air, and fuel filter. Signs of water in gas -- filter in bad shape.
Checked spark plugs and wires. 2 plugs were not tightened down completely.
Seemed to work a little better for a day. Noticed RPM's were running high. Example: 1500 in park
Car was running pretty well previous to "new" problem.
Has 103000 miles, automatic transmission
ANY ideas??? Too broke to take to dealer!
Thanks!

just curious. i've heard that products like slick 50 actually clog your oil filter, lowering oil pressure.

when i come to a stop, my integra acts as if it is flooded and dies out. Ive been told it is due to dirty gas. i guess the pistons are clogged. Does this sound right to you mechanics out there? if not what could be causing this? also is this (or whatever you think it is)
expensive to fix? I am more then willing to pay a proffessional, i would just like to know if it is going to break me? thanks.
