it is quiet idling now when i drive down the road it sputters and stalls

probably a bad fuel filter if you feel like it get a manual and change it your self if not not to pricey to have done

Clogged fuel filter? usually this will happen when a fuel additive has been added to an older vehicles fuel tank.
