Ok.....I took my car to the car dealership to get the motor mounts changed on Monday..........(Cavalier....2000) When I got it back my Anti-Lock Breaks light popped on after the place closed.........Could this have happened because of something that they might have done or is it because it wore out..........
I don't want to be charged for something that they might have done if it is something that they may have caused when pulling the motor up alittle to replace the mounts.........
what do you think?.....

if this problem arose after you had the work done, take it back to them, let them know this ABS system trouble happened after the work was done. and have them check it to be sure that they did not disturb anything related to the ABS system. And tell them you are not going to pay for anything. They were supposed to be sure everything was ok before the car even left.

Its very possible that the light came on due to the engine being shifted around. The ABS runs on a different computer than the rest of the car. Try pulling your negative battery cable for a few minutes, then put it back on. If the ABS light is still on, take it back and tell them what happened. They shouldn't charge u anything to fix the problem.

the anti-lock brake lights on some cars can come on for something as simple as a failed brake light bulb

it is possible, but not likely that any one working on motor mounts would damage the breaking system

if it were me, I would get somebody, even the people who worked on it before to troubleshoot the problem and tell you precisely what is wrong, THEN you can more easily tell what (or WHO) could have caused the failure

most places will troubleshoot for free of for a nominal charge
