when i come to a stop, my integra acts as if it is flooded and dies out. Ive been told it is due to dirty gas. i guess the pistons are clogged. Does this sound right to you mechanics out there? if not what could be causing this? also is this (or whatever you think it is)
expensive to fix? I am more then willing to pay a proffessional, i would just like to know if it is going to break me? thanks.

Take your car in for a tune-up at a well known mechanic in your area or at a Sears or Firestone Tire center since they do that kind of thing. THey will install new spark plugs and wires and check your car's computer for any trouble codes that are stored. I am not sure if they change the fuel filter but ask them to do that along with the air filter. The checks are advertised in the cost maybe 50-100 dollars, any extra parts that are needed will be extra but a tune-up should not cost more than $150.00. Your pistons are not clogged bye the way. If the tune-up doesn't help or the mechanic says your car needs a lot of money for repairs then consider if it will break you.

Todays gas, for the most part sucks.
My truck, my wifes' van, coworkers cars all die at a stop on occasion. The alcohol in gas today attracts moisture from the air and creates "bubbles" of water that foul things up. Not to mention crappy gas mileage!!

is it fuel injected?
clean up the spark plugs, maybe change them
empty your gas tank and dump some fuel injector cleaner in it, maybe an octane booster.
check your o2 sensor for corrosion on the end of it.
