I would like to change out the transmissions to have a much stronger transmission in the much more economical van.Will it fit? 1996 E-150 ford cargo van putting the transmission from that van into a 1986 ford arostar both have 6cylinders

I've noticed lately in my 1994 Buick Skylark (3.1 L V6) that when I accelerate hard, or if I'm going uphill while accelerating (basically anytime there's a good workload on it) I hear a banging noise. It's not terribly loud. Any ideas?

I know how to do this procedure. Just wondering if transmission to bell housing is necessary, without loosening motor mounts to 'angle' the engine, bell housing & transmission downward to leave room to seperate bell housing from engine block.

and it carries on when i'm driving along like something is rubbing.

The carb has been cleaned. I cannot find a moped dealer to fix it here as they only work on new models. Anyone familiar with this moped, and if so I need suggestions to keep it running. Thanks- It will start again after sitting for a few minutes-then do the same again--run well for about 15 minutes and then dies---acts as though it has run out of gas even though the tank is full.

I have installed a new fuel pump and a new fuel pump relay also the oil pressure switch. But I still cant get the pump to come on. Had this problem once before and had to put it in the shop. They got it running but did not tell me what all they did. Can anyone help me? cant afford another shop bill.

I just bought a '99 Honda Civic with no A/C. I think it might be worth it to add it, the car has low mileage and is in great shape for resale later. But I have no idea what is involved and how much it might cost. I'd like to have a general idea before I talk to the dealer or shop.

In this 110 degree weather.. i need some help. I have a 94 ford ranger. The a/c blows warm air. When the car is on and the a/c is on.. I noticed the compressor cycles on and off. I checked the refrigerant level with a a/c gauge and it reads full. Cant figure out whats going on. HELP !! hehe

ive changed tires. inner and outer bearings. balljoints. strut and rotor. brakes. when i changed bearings noticed metal shaveings in the grease. changed them and the roar seemed to soften but got loader after about 2 months. checked grease again, no metal shavengs. what do i do?

Okay, this has been going on for a little while now. We took it to the Nissan place to get it fixed, but they didn't do anything but clean some sensors and fix a wire. So here's the deal. It is bucking like crazy after it warms up. We already replaced the distributor and cam sensor. Not always at the same time, but codes 0110, 0340 and GM code 1336 have been spitting out. After a while, it just gives up and has no spark until it cools down. What's the relationship between the cam sensor and the computer as well as the relationship between the mass airflow sensor and cam sensor? If anyone knows what's going on, please help me.

i put a new engine in it.and when i put the rotoer on to do the timing the rotor wont rotate,unless i gentle persuation. When it finally get to top dead center i turn it off and then back and it no longer top dead centered. and chiltons doesnt have it in its maual

I have a schwinn 750 wats, 36 volts, and i was wondering what would happen if i would buy and put a 1000 wat , 36 volt motor, would it have more power , would it go faster? would battery die faster? what would happen? if i would add an extra battery (the normal one has 3 sets of 13 volts each, ) what if i would add another 13 volts ? please help, best longest answer, 10 points guaranteed.

i know it will hurt your gas mileage. but my mote carlo just seems to be sucking gas. its a 3.1 liter and should be getting way better gas mileage.

I found and engine and transmission for a mustang. It is a 4.6 standard. The guy said he didnt know the exact number of miles on the engine but it was definitely less than a hundred thousand. Would 1100 be too much for everything I would need to put the engine in the car? It would include the computer, harness and everything else I needed. He said he could give it to me for about 800 or 900 if i gave him my engine and tranny, which is a 3.8. Any answers from mechanics or people that know about this subject would be very appreciated.

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT that my dad had just recently purchased for me. Everything was great. Then my dad took it to the shop to have the oil changed and the transmission flushed because he wasn’t sure when the previous owner had done it last. The night we got it back we drove it around and the car makes almost like a really big vibration some times, and you can definitely feel it in all of the seats, drivers seat the most. It’s almost like it makes the car shake a little bit and you can hear it too. And it only seemed to do it from anywhere 30-45 miles per hour and when u would let off the acceleration it would stop and its random it happens every once in a while for 15 seconds or 2 seconds and at 30 mph or 40 mph or 37 mph and ext. And it had never done this before and we had driven it quite a bit and we would have noticed if this was there before. So we took it back to the shop and they said the transmission fluid was low so they put more in it and we took it home again. It still made the vibration in the whole car, so we took it back again and told the mechanic to go for a ride in it to feel it and so we did and of course the vibration happened and he said he had no idea what it was? So he took it back again and said that maybe the machine that flushes the transmission might have gotten trash in it somewhere so he would flush the transmission again to get it out if that’s what it was. And he called after that, and said that he took it for a ride and it was still doing it. And we have no idea what this is? We haven’t even had the car for a month yet and no one even the mechanic has no idea what it is? Can you PLEASE help with any information possible to help fix it or to know what’s causing it it would greatly be appreciated!!!

They recently sprayed tar on the parking lot at the apt. complex where I live and sealed the cracks with thick tar. When it got hot the thick tar stuck to my tires in globs. When I go down the highway the globs make my front tires vibrate and it's VERY annoying, so PLEASE help me rid my tires of the globs of tar!! There's gotta be something that'll get it off.

Whenever i start my car some smoke comes out of it. It will do it in the morning, then if i leave some where in the middle of the day it will do it again. It basically does it anytime i start my car. i know i need to take it to a mechanic, but i want to get some ideas of the cause so that they don't screw me over
