this car overheats slowly when in traffic. yes it has a bigger rad, a flex pull fan, and a 2200cfm pushfan

did you modify the engine? do you have an air dam on the front of the car to help direct the flow of air through the radiator? if the radiator that you put on it is bigger but has the standard fin count it may not cool and you may have to have one made. more fins per inch the more cooling you will have, and if the tubes in the radiator are in line (one behind the other ) that will affect your cooling system, you may have to use a staggered tube core (more tubes exposed to air the better it cools) then again it's possible that you may have a small leak in one of your head gaskets or one may be turned upside down. you also have to consider how much air flow actually moves out of the engine compartment

This may not be your problem, but that old 429 has a habit of getting hot if the timing is retarded. I've had at least one myself.

Well I was going to suggest a bigger radiator and a electric fan but since you already have all of that I guess you are just S.O.L. man.

Your thermostat may also be faulty. Or you could shell out a few dollars and put a cold air intake on it. I think that will improve your gas mileage, and horsepower.

it could be your water pump ford has had problems with the wings wearing off the impeller thus causing poor circulation when in slow traffic or idling this causes over heating.

use a high flow water pump strait water and a small hole in the thermostat water cools faster than antifreeze just remember to and antifreeze before winter

You may have sucked a Chevy into the intake.Thats not good for any car.FORDS RULE!!!!!
