In Jacksonville, NC, who will inspect my car with too dark tint on the windows? I see cars with windows totally black with current inspection stickers. I don't want to scrape my tint just to get inspected. Don't have that kind of $$$.

The window tint in all NC registered vehicles must meet a minimum of 35% visibility. If the tint is less than 35% visibility, it will not pass inspection. I am a state inspector and I have a electronic device that can test the tint for visibility. If the vehicle has factory installed tint, the visibility test does not apply. The police officer that gave you his previous answer needs to go back to his books and read the law because he gave you a incorrect answer. ALL NC registered vehicles must comply with window tinting laws (except factory installed tint) . There is a additional fee with the state inspection on aftermarket window tint testing. If you go to a garage and he passes your vehicle with aftermarket tint less than 35 %, he is in direct violation of state vehicle inspection laws.

Your local garage would inspect your windows. I live in Gates NC and i own a 1998 Ford Explorer with really dark tinted windows. My local inspection station inspect my car with no problems. Trucks and Suv's don't have a tinting regulation, only cars. Thats why you see many trucks and suv's with dark windows.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.
