In other words, I got hit in Massachusetts by a overnight delivery truck. They were clearly at fault, but this is a no-fault state. Assuming my car is totaled, my insurance will pay market value. Can I go after the delivery company's insurance to make up the difference so I can go buy the same car new? We always buy new cars, we weren't expecting to replace a 2004 Pilot in 2006 and hadn't budgeted to do so. Why should we be forced to buy a used car when this accident was no fault of our own?

when i called the police they didnt want to showq up .i saw a few of them pass by by and look at me as if i was crazy. so i went and made a police report on it now what should i do? I'm pretty sure these people were illegal and i got they're temp tag number because they abandoned their car. my question is are these people gonna pay for the damages if the police find them because the only type of insurance i have is if i hit another car? any suggestions?

I took insurance with Elephant in May 2004 and moved into a new house in February 2005. It was renewed with Elephant in May 2005 and I received my documents which were forwarded onto my new address. I failed to inform Elephant that I had moved house and supply them with my new address, so in May 2006 they sent insurance documents to my old address which I, obviously, did not receive.
They tried to take payment for a years insurance from a credit card which has since been cancelled. Since all their correspondance was to my old address, I had no idea what was going on. Now they are wanting me to pay for insurance for the period until they cancelled the insurance.
My car was 'off the road' for a period of 2 months because I was looking to sell it. It was taxed and located on private property but was not insured. I've since decided to keep the car and have insured it elsewhere. Elephant will not accept this to right off the debt. Has anyone else had this issue & how was it resolved?

Just the other day I had my wallet stolen with my CA driver's licence inside. I am currectly on temporary work assignment in London, United Kingdom and need to get a duplicate licence issued, as I come back to the states fairly regularly and need to be able to drive legally. I will be back in California in a few months for a week, during which I can go to the DMV and apply for a duplicate licence. Will they issue me a duplicate licence? Will they send the licence to my temporary address (since my current apartment is being subleted and mail forwarding is very spotty)?

Hi, I am at MI and my wife is at DC (I think DC will have a high insurance rate. I'll move to DC after a year). We have two cars. Could we have a joint car insurance if one car is registered at MD and one car is registered at MI?

Thanks for your attention,

We bought a car 2 months ago and we still do not have the title work. We moved out of state and cannot register our vehicle. We also cannot get insurance on the vehicle because it is not registered. If I give them their car back do they have to pay off the loan? Indiana state law says they have 20 days to provide title work and it also states they can only give out 1 paper plate per vehicle, we are on our 3rd paper plate.

Does the owner's insurance get used, or does the person who was driving the car use their own insurance? Also, is it techically "legal" to let someone else drive your car without putting them on your insurance? What if they just borrowed it once or twice and got into an accident? Does the owner get penalized by his/her insurance company, or will the owner's insurance even cover the accident?

Just something I have wondered, especially since I have had to drive my fiancee's car around the past few days since my car is in for repairs. I am not on his policy, and I don't PLAN on having an accident, but I like to be prepared with knowledge. Thanks!
