Car Makes - May 2007

I have a 97' GMC Pickup. Well it's a stick, i drive it down the road it seems as if something is "sapping" the power, like i can have my foot to the floor and it kind "jerks", mostly in 1st and 2nd gear. I recently went up to AutoZone and the guy up there told me it was bad. Anyways, i'm wondering how long i can drive around with it like that before i eventually need to replaec it. Thanks

i have had the a/c compressor changed, the freon is in it, the control panel changed. I have had someone tell me that the fan isn't running as fast as it should, Could that be why? Also when im driving it and my a/c is on and i slow down the car dies some times or seems to run really bad. What the big deal? Why am i having so many complications due to my a/c?

I am getting a code 43 (I think, verification to come) that comes on when idling in traffic. I know it is for the ecm, most likely due to a knock sensor advancing the timing for too long at a time, I have changed the one on the driver side of the engine, same thing. I'm wondering if theres anything else I should be looking for while I'm at it that could throw the code. Also, rather than disconnecting the battery again, can I pull the ECM fuse to reset the codes?

Please look at the torque and power curves.

No people just guessing 56mph please. Preferably engineers or designers or scientists or experts, no guessers. This isn't the "magic number" for all cars. It also depends on the gearing.
In 5th gear 1000rpm=19mph, 2000=38, 3000=57.......
The twinport engine has blips in torque and plateaus all over the map. I just want to know if cruising on the motorway what road speed or rpm will give maximum distance per gallon of petrol used.
This is of course cruising on a level motorway in 5th gear and considering dynamic factors such as wind speed at 0mph.

I was wanting to switch out my old bench seat in my 87 GM pickup and i've seen lots of people selling new bucket style seats on Ebay with custom bracketing for the swap.Anyone ever done this kinda swap to their 73-87 GM pickup?Any info i should know about?Thanks.The link below is just one of the style seats of i have seen on Ebay,there are others.

I replaced coolant 50/50, new thermostat, hoses are not flattend, no coolant leaks any where.there seams to be back pressure to the fill reservoir. If the water pump was bad wouldnt it leak coolant from under car? I can not find leaking anywhere

Replaced radiator, water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc.. Jeep dealer says that the 1989 model had a problem with air-lock in cooling system (fixed following year) but cannot tell me how to bleed it to get rid of the air-lock problem, thus how do I fix that condition is the question.

I have a 97 T&C 3.8L, my problem is when im driving all of a sudden the engine would cut and I would have to wait for it to cool to keep going. Dash shows that the engine isnt overheating, and the temp senser is fairly new. Power is running to other parts of the car so I know its not a battery\power issue. And thats all i can really think of, any ideas folks? not sure if its a tranny issue or engine issue
