Cant even compare the two.
Vette will waste the 7, unless its been overhauled to a three rotor with a turbocharger. Then it would be tight. Honestly, thats a race I'd like to see.
Havent made the 7 in a long time either, not a fair race... if you compared both models from the 90's stock, might be a fairer assessment.

PS Jared... anyone that drops anything into any rotary Mazda thats not a rotary should have their head examined... how awful!

The rx-7 has a much better top end than the vetter, but being a rotary engine that is normal. This also means that it takes a while to get power. Even with a better top end the vetter has more horse and torque down low. However, as far as I know, the rx-7 has a higher top speed. So I think that the question should be, which car goes faster, the fastest. Or some thing like that.

In a stock car to stock car comparison it is no contest. An '07 Vette will smoke any Mazda RX-7. There are some exceptionally fast RX-7s out there but they have had thousands of dollars of work put into them.

The RX-7 that is likely to be most capable of being faster than an '07 Vette is likely going to be one that has had an LS-1 swap. (Corvette Engine)

Stock rx-7 vs stock Vette is not a contest on any level. Vette blows the doors off every time.

It truly depends on what year RX7. In 1992 Car and Driver magazine reviewed a new RX7. It got high ratings of course. If memory serves correctly, that was the hottest RX7 factory produced, pretty much matching the regular Corvette in performance. In 1992 the hottest Corvette was the rare and exotic ZR1. Quarter mile times went to the ZR1 with the RX7 not far behind. However, RX7's were only manufactured until 1995 for the United States. In 2007 if you were to compare the recently released RX8 to a Corvette ZO6, I'm afraid that the Corvette would come out on top. It's hard to beat at almost everything it's compared to, and I love Mazda's !

I love my RX-7 but I would not dare race a vette, let alone the 07.

like everyone has said the vette will leave the rx-7 wayyyyy behind. that said i much prefer the look of the rx-7, but the rotary is debatable.

They are not even in the same class, A Vette, particularly an 06 or up are much faster then an Rx7.

Acceleration times have sky rocketed since Mazda made the last Rx7. They were pretty fast in the 90's, but today you can get a Saturn that would dust one...
