I think at one point they held a 34% stake in Mitsubishi Motors but I have also heard that Daimler-Chrysler sold what they held and the Mitsubishi family of companies had to buy Mitsubishi-Motors to keep them afloat.

Can anyone please confirm?

I have a 1992 Volvo 940GL with 225K miles that has started randomly stalling out while driving at highway speeds. So far there is no correlation to gas level in the tank or weather, it does it on sunny days as well as rainy, and with full tank. Fuel pump, plugs, wires, distributor are all new and have had no effect. It immediately starts again when the key is turned off and then restarted. Sometimes it does this several times per day, sometimes it won't do this for several days or even weeks. This is very frustrating and every time I bring it to a garage it is running fine and they can find nothing wrong. Anyone have any ideas ??

I drive a 1990 Volvo 240 with 226,000 miles on it. The original alternator lasted 12 years//160,000 miles. The replacement, a rebuilt unit, lasted 5 years//65,000 miles (fair enough), and died a month ago. The rebuilt unit that replaced it just died yesterday, with only about 1000 miles on it. Is it likely a short circuit or other malfunction caused the latest one to crap out? What should my next step be: thoroughly troubleshooting the charging system for a short, as described in the Haynes manual? Or is it likely the latest alternator was just a faulty unit from day 1? Thanks!

so i am planning to get a car and planning on 2000 honda accord because it look nice. but compare to other cars it's like 10 inches longer. =/ so i am thinking should i get a 2 doors one or 4 doors one. 2 doors coupe is nice by my standard but the back it really fat and the tailight is weird. as the 4 doors, once i add the sideskirt it aint gon look nice and it's really look longer. yet, i like the tailight which i can change it into r34 lights.

Right now I drive an Acura RSX Type-s. I'm thinking about trading in for a 350z. Excluding the limited space available inside, which isn't an issue for me, would it be a good investment?

My concerns are as follows:

1.) Nissan seems to have flooded the market with Z's. On Autotrader or eBay for example there are a ton available for sale, which seems to have quickly lowered their resale value.

2.) This would be my primary traveler. Would I quickly tire of the stiff ride and sportiness or do owners feel they maintain their fun factor?

3.) Given my money situation, I would likely get a 2003 model, which I know has had issues with irregular tire wear in the front. Are there any other documented defects that would reduce reliability?

Thanks for your imput!

I have a 1990 BMW 525i. The transmission was just recently replaced. I know this was dumb, but while I was driving, I accidentally put the car into park, and it started grinding really bad. It has one of those shifters down on the center console. It had a button you had to push to shift, which now doesn't work. The button is just loose and doesn't do anything when you push it. When it's in "park" on any amount of slope, the car drifts, and you hear a clicking sound from under the car somewhere.

Is there a simple fix for this, and what is wrong. Also is this a sign that the transmission is only going to get worse. Please advise.

So which car is better for the environment? A Honda Civic NGV or a Honda Insight Hybrid? And which one costs less in terms of gas?

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 5.9 4X4. Its Loosing 2 quarts oil between oil changes, found absolutley no external leaks. Engine runs like a champ and there is no harsh black/blue smoke from exhaust. I suspect intake gasket by process of elimination: no exter. leaks, to smoke possibly sucking oil by vaccuum under hard exceleration, oil pressure is fine and plugs were not fouled out as of 15,000 miles ago.

Alright this is hard to explain but I'll try. When I floor my gas in my dodge ram and it seems to hit about 3rd or 4th gear I hear a very loud almost blowing type noise but when it finally changes gear it stops. It happens only when or after Ive floored the gas. The noise sounds almost like a leaf blower inside my engine or my intakes come off the throttle body, but it has not. Any suggestions on what this could be? transmission and if so whats making this noise?
